Our guide to The Hermit's Rest Sunset Tour of the Grand Canyon

Pink Jeep has offered its award-winning guided tours for 50 years and is known as one of the premier must-do adventures in the West. Tours are small and personalised seating only 7 guests per vehicle for a more comfortable, small group interactive experience. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

What better way to start your South Rim Grand Canyon tour than by boarding an open-air jeep? Feel the wind dance on your skin as you zoom by motionless tour buses with long boarding lines. Your Pink Jeep Tour whisks you away to exclusive views along Desert View Drive, miles past the last shuttle bus stop meaning you will enjoy your tour  in a quiet, relaxing environment undisturbed by traffic and crowds of tourists.

Experience the Grand Canyon at sunset! Whatever you do, bring your camera. This tour allows time to watch the sunset paint the canyon walls. The sun dropping below the rim is only half of the show; the colors making their way up the canyon as the sun sets are unforgettable. You’ll watch the transition while sitting on the edge of the canyon.Your “backstage pass” to a fully narrated adventure featuring Yavapai Point, historic Grand Canyon Village and a hike at Hermits Rest. Your first stop will be Yavapai Point, which offers the largest geological exposure of rock layers. The rim to river views are spectacular, as are views of Phantom Ranch, South Kaibab and Bright Angel Trails. El Tovar, Hopi House, and the historic Grand Canyon Village are the next stop. The drive to Hermits Rest is the most scenic view of the Grand Canyon. Our expert guides will take guests down below the rim to view authentic fossil beds along the way. On your hike, you’ll be able to view the Hermit Rapids from the rim as well as landmarks in the canyon, including the former Hermit Camp. The Imax movie, “The Hidden Secrets,” is included after your tour.

After your tour, cruise by the IMAX theatre for the next show as your tour includes a ticket to the IMAX movie, Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets. See unbelievable images of the Grand Canyon that take you high above the canyon floor and across the racing waters of the Colorado River on this enormous film screen. Uncover the truths of early native civilizations, European explorers, and American expeditions with this timeless IMAX film located just outside the Park entrance.
