4th of July Celebrations:

Orlando 4th July fireworks Disney

The 4th of July is an important day for Americans, so you can expect plenty of fun-filled celebrations if you’re visiting Orlando on this date. Most of the parks have something special going on to commemorate the day with lots of spectacular fireworks displays. Here’s what you can expect…

Magic Kingdom- The Independence Day celebrations will actually span over 2 days at the Magic Kingdom. ‘Disney’s Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky!’ is one of the most popular 4th July firework shows in Orlando, so make sure you find yourself a good viewing spot early so you don’t miss out. Red, white and blue fireworks soar above the Cinderella Castle as a magnificent musical score echoes across the park. You'll also be able to enjoy DJ dance parties in Tomorrowland and Frontierland.

Epcot-  Independence Day is a great opportunity to meet some of your favourite characters dressed in their finest patriotic attire. So, make sure you bring your camera and take a few photos with Mickey and the gang in their special outfits. The Voices of Liberty will also be performing classic American hits at the America Gardens Theater- a show not to be missed. Epcot is famous for its stunning night-time show ‘IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth’ and on 4th July this incredible show is even more magical than usual. The show celebrates the planet’s past, present and future and features a mesmerising surprise ending.

LEGOLAND Florida- Help to build a giant American flag out of huge LEGO bricks at the Wells Fargo Fun Town 4D Theater. One of the highlights of the day is the patriotic firework show that takes place over Lake Eloise. You’ll be given special brick viewing glasses to watch the show too!

SeaWorld Orlando- SeaWorld’s ‘Ignite’ firework show is set to get a 4th July makeover that you won’t want to miss. Filled with pyrotechnics, lasers and dazzling fireworks, this is one of the best displays in Orlando.

Busch Gardens- The park will stay open until 10pm with a special Independence Day fireworks display to end the night. There will also be live entertainment from the 'Actual Bank Robbers' who will host a Summer Nights Dance Challenge with some surprise guests.

Frozen Summer Games at Disney's Blizzard Beach

One of the best ways to cool down from the Florida sunshine, is by spending the day at a water park. This summer, Disney’s Blizzard Beach is hosting ‘Frozen Summer Games’. There’s plenty of fun games, crafts and even a DJ! You’ll have to choose whether you want to compete as part of Team Olaf or Team Kristoff before the games begin. From Ice Pail Relays to Ski Pole Limbos and a lively Snowball Toss, there’s loads to keep you entertained. You’ll also be able to meet Frozen characters like Kristoff and the loveable Olaf, who’s waiting to give you a big warm hug!

‘Pop’ is a brand new, totally unique show at SeaWorld Orlando. The stunning collaboration between SeaWorld and the world-renowned Bubble Legendary company showcases the wonders of the ocean through extraordinary bubble artistry. Guinness World Record holder Fan Yang hosts the show, performing to a beautifully choreographed score. The show also features lasers, lighting and special effects, as well as an incredible moment, where a member of the audience is invited on stage to be “bubblized” into a life-size bubble.

When? Until 4th September.

Summer of Mars:

Summer of Mars at the Kennedy Space Center

Summer of Mars is a limited time only event running throughout the summer at the Kennedy Space Center. Like the name suggests, it’s all about the big red planet! NASA’s goal is to be able to send humans to Mars by the 2030’s and the Summer of Mars exhibition gives you a behind the scenes look at this exciting mission. One of our favourite things about this event, is that you can get a close-up look at the amazing Mars Rover Concept Vehicle. The 28-foot space craft has been designed for navigating the demanding landscape of Mars and could even be the type of vehicle that future space explorers travel in! The Mars Rover will be at the Kennedy Space Center until mid-July (when it embarks on a tour of the USA), so if you’re visiting before then, make sure you check it out.

When? Until 4th September.
