6 Things You must Do at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Discover Star Wars Land!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is NOW OPEN at Disneyland California! Here are six things you must do during your visit…

1. Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Star Wars Land Millennium Falcon Ride

If you’re a serious Star Wars fan, we’re sure you’ve imagined what it would be like to fly on the Millennium Falcon. Well, now you can! On Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run you’ll actually be able to take control of this iconic space craft and fly the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy”.

You’ll step onboard this huge starship before strapping into the Falcon cockpit and being assigned your own individual role. You’ll either be a pilot, gunner or flight engineer, entrusted in a special mission to deliver smuggled goods. Make sure you don’t miss this, as it’s a truly unforgettable experience.

2. Enjoy a drink at Oga’s Cantina

Exploring this 14-acre land can be tiring work, so when you need to stop for a drink, Oga’s Cantina is the perfect place to go. Be warned though- this isn’t your average place. This local cantina is the place where bounty hunters, rogue traders and travellers come to refuel and conduct their meetings. There’s lively music from the cantina’s resident DJ- former Starspeeder 3000 pilot DJ R-3X, and you never know when a Stormtrooper (or two!) might show up.

The exciting menu is full of unusual concoctions and they are all Instagram-worthy! There are bright beverages, glowing drinks and even drinks that are served smoking. You can choose from both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. We like the sound of ‘Fuzzy Tauntaun’ which is made up of peach vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice with tangerine, pure cane sugar and topped with foam.

For non-alcoholic options, we’d recommend ‘Jabba Juice’ which is a refreshing combination of orange juice, pineapple, kiwi, cantaloupe and blueberry popping pearls. You can even try a glass of the famous ‘Blue Milk’.

3. Build your own lightsaber

There are so many amazing things to do at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including the chance to make your very own lightsaber. You can create a customised design that’s totally unique, so no one else will have a lightsaber just like yours!

If you want to get building, you’ll have to find your way to Savi’s Scrapyard- a hidden workshop. You’ll be greeted by a ‘Gatherer’ who will take you inside and show you how to build your lightsaber. Gatherers are a group of men and women who have dedicated their lives to passing on their knowledge of the Force and the ancient ways of the Jedi.

You’ll be able to choose from a variety of special materials to make your lightsaber, including salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships. Then you can bring it to life using the power of kyber crystals.

4. Meet Kylo Ren

Meet Kylo Ren at Star Wars Land

One of the highlights of visiting Disneyland has to be meeting your favourite characters. At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge you can meet some of the heroes and villains from the Star Wars saga. Get ready for a close up with Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. He’s been gathering Stormtroopers to help him hunt for Resistance fighter Rey and he might even try to recruit you! Look out for the lovable Chewbacca and Resistance spy Vi Moradi while you’re there too.

5. Explore the marketplace

Star Wars Land marketplace

The Black Spire Outpost Marketplace is a bustling market full of vendors showcasing their goods from across the galaxy. You’ll find lots of unique and mysterious items here, and we’re sure you’ll want to take lots of them home as souvenirs.

Even if you’re not looking to buy, this marketplace is well worth exploring, as there’s so much to see. Look out for Batuuan attire, handcrafted toys, rare artefacts and unusual creatures. You might also meet the Toydarian who runs this street market.

6. Admire your surroundings

With so much to do at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, there will be plenty to keep you busy, but we think it’s important to take some time to stop and admire your surroundings, because there’s so much to see too. Disney have created a fully immersive world where Star Wars fans can experience what it would be like to be a part of the Star Wars story. The theming and attention to detail really is incredible and it’s worth taking some time to explore and discover the hidden secrets that surround you. Make sure you’ve got your camera at the ready!
