Last August, Disney made a huge announcement that they would be creating two incredible Star Wars themed lands! Fans will be able to explore the exciting realm they’ve always dreamed of being a part of at both the Disneyland Resort in California and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park at Walt Disney World. Those of you eager to get a glimpse of what the new land will look like can feast your eyes on this new teaser picture released yesterday by Disney…
The spectacular 14-acre land will be entirely immersive, placing you right in the centre of the movies you know and love. It will also become the largest single-themed land expansion the Disneyland Resort has ever seen! If you look at the image closely you may spot some exciting clues for what’s to come. Can you see the iconic Millennium Falcon hiding in one of the cargo bays? You’ll actually be able to ride this breath-taking spacecraft, in a thrilling adventure that puts you in command as you take your place as pilot!
Separated from the rest of the park with an impressive display of towering rocks and an aqua lagoon the authentic environment will take you away from reality to a galaxy far far away. Absolutely everything will be themed meaning you might recognise the line-up of markets, familiar buildings and landing zones surrounding you.
While the characters weren’t too fond of the food in the movies, we’re hoping that there will be some tasty restaurants serving up new Star Wars themed goodies. Who wouldn’t be curious to give the Blue Milk a try? There are also some snacks from the resort’s current Galactic Grill restaurant that we’d like to see make it onto the menu, like the 'Cheese-3PO burger', 'Han Burger' and the delicious Red Velvet Cake 'Darth by Chocolate' dessert!
As well as restaurants, we’re predicting that there will be plenty of chances to get up close to your favourite characters as well as several shops to pick up exclusive merchandise and special Star Wars memorabilia as a souvenir of your unforgettable expedition. It is also rumoured that droids will feature as inhabitants on the land after Disney were spotted testing them at the park’s Star Wars Launch Bay!
Production of the new land began in April, and while there is still no official opening date, it is rumoured that the unveiling will take place in 2018. In the meantime, click here to check out an amazing 360-degree photo of the construction site for some more clues of what to expect.
