If you haven’t already heard the news, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disneyland California will soon be undergoing an incredible transformation to become an all-new Guardians of the Galaxy themed ride. Based on the blockbuster movie released in 2014, the attraction should be opening around the same time as the second movie hits cinema screens next summer. Work on the exciting project is already underway with the Collector’s fortress now taking shape at the park.
The Walt Disney Imagineering team created a model of what the attraction would look like, and have now started to bring their extraordinary ideas to life on the exterior of the ride. The fortress has been designed to be “intimidating and imposing, but also shimmering and regal”, in an attempt to create an eerie atmosphere where the mysterious Collector can show of his most prized possessions. Enter if you dare!
Once inside, you’ll be recruited by Rocket to help rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy team who are being held captive by the Collector in display cases dangling in the air over a dark abyss! You’ll see all of the characters from the film, including space adventurer and leader of the group Peter Quill, humanoid Groot and the superhuman Gamora. Help them BREAKOUT of the Collector’s lair in an action packed adventure with plenty of surprises.
If you’ve experienced the thrills of the Tower of Terror before, you’ll be pleased to know that the exhilarating free-fall sensation will still feature in this new ride. The terrifying drops will be enhanced with new visual special effects as well as an adrenaline building soundtrack created specially for the attraction. If the movie’s brilliant soundtrack is anything to go by, the new music is bound to get your heart-racing! Check out the video below for more details...
We’re sure you won’t need any persuading to try this ride again, but if you’re a fan make sure you do, as the randomised special effects mean you can enjoy a different ride experience each time! If you want to ride the iconic Tower of Terror one last time, you still have the chance up until 2nd January 2017. Make sure you keep checking our blog for the latest updates.
