There are so many amazing things to do in Dubai, from exploring world-famous landmarks to relaxing on the golden beaches and everything in-between. If you’re planning a visit, there are a whole host of incredible Dubai attractions you might want to check out, but there’s also a lot of exciting new attractions coming soon. Check out the brand new attractions opening in Dubai this year…
IMG World of Adventure- Now Open!
In less than a month, IMG World of Adventure will open its doors for the very first time. The incredible new attraction is rumoured to have cost an astonishing $1billion to build and will become the largest indoor theme park in the world! There will be four themed ‘adventure zones’ spanning over 1.5 million-square-feet, including Cartoon Network, Marvel, Lost Valley and IMG Boulevard.
You can expect to see some of your favourite characters from the big screen, such as Spider-Man, Thor, The Hulk, The Avengers, Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls, as well as some terrifying roaming Velociraptors! It’s not just impressive rides though, guests will also be able to watch live shows and immerse themselves in a multi-sensory 5D cinema experience. What makes this place even better, is that everything is temperature controlled, so you can enjoy all of the thrills inside and escape from the Dubai heat.
Dubai Safari Park- Now Open!
Dubai Safari Park will launch later this year with the aim of creating a fantastic wildlife centre where the world-class care of the animals is the priority. Replacing Dubai Zoo, the new park will span over 119-hectares of land and give guests the opportunity to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime safari. The park will welcome close to 5,000 beautiful animals (350 different species) including lions, cheetahs, elephants and bears to name just a few. While there is still no official opening date, some of the animals have already started to arrive, suggesting the wait could soon be over!
There will be several themed areas including Arabian, African and Asian villages, to create suitable environments for the animals from different continents. The park’s CEO has revealed that there will be air-conditioned rocks, misting machines and temperature controlled pools to keep the animals cool in their new home.
Construction has already begun on the enormous Dubai Eye set to open later this year. Once completed, it will stand at 210-metres tall, making it the largest Ferris Wheel in the world! There will be 48 state of the art capsules which can hold a total of around 1,400 people at any time, meaning there should never be too long to wait. As they ascend into the sky, guests will be treated to spectacular views of the city, it’s gleaming skyscraper buildings and pure white sandy beaches. A huge 80-metre LED screen will be fixed to the wheel, with plans to show interactive information, adverts and even movies. Located on Bluewaters Island, the area around the Dubai Eye will house an enticing souk, alfresco restaurants and a luxury 5-star hotel.
Update June 2018* This amazing attraction has taken a lot longer to complete than expected, but construction is now almost finished. The newly named Ain Dubai Observation Wheel is rumoured to be opening some time this year. Once complete, it will break not just one, but two records, as it will feature the highest rope-climbing platform in the world!
