If you’re planning a holiday to Dubai, you’ve probably got top Dubai attractions like the Burj Khalifa on your must-do list, but did you know that there’s a whole host of amazing theme parks to explore? You might not have considered visiting a theme park in Dubai, but we’d recommend making some time in your holiday schedule to fit it in, as you’re guaranteed to have a great day out. The Dubai theme parks not only boast one-of-a-kind attractions, but also Broadway-style shows, character encounters and much more. There’s also several fantastic water parks, which are perfect for when you want to cool down from the Dubai heat.

MOTIONGATE Dubai is all about the movies. This amazing park bring to life classic stories from the most successful picture studios in Hollywood, including DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate. There is so much to do here, but one of the highlights has to be the incredible Hunger Games attractions. There’s not just one, but two rides inspired by the Hunger Games and if you’re a fan of the series, you must try them both. This is the only place in the world with Hunger Games-themed rides so don’t miss out! One is an adrenaline-fuelled coaster called the ‘Capitol Bullet Train’ while the other takes you on a breath-taking 4D aerial tour of Panem.
Movie buffs will love the chance to step inside their favourite movies in the themed areas of the park. You can explore the Smurfs Village, visit Shrek’s murky swamp, join forces with the Ghostbusters gang, embark on a high-speed chase with the Green Hornet and much, much more. There’s more than 27 amazing attractions, so try to experience as many as you can during your visit.
IMG Worlds of Adventure:
Dubai really know how to offer a world-class them park experience and if you want to escape from the heat for a while, this is a great option. IMG Worlds of Adventure is the largest indoor theme park in the world, so not only is there plenty to do, but you’ll be able to enjoy the thrills whilst staying cool in the temperature-controlled environment. The park is split up into themed adventure zones where you can brave thrilling rides and attractions, meet superheroes and dine in themed restaurants.
The Marvel zone is a must visit for any Marvel fan. We love the ‘Avengers Battle of Ultron’ ride which puts you in the middle of an epic battle alongside Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk. Spider-Man fans will also love 'Spider-Man Doc Ock's Revenge'- a high-speed adventure through the city with your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
Head to the dinosaur-themed Lost Valley adventure zone if you’re all about the coasters. ‘Predator’ is one of the most popular rides here thanks to its terrifying loops, rolls and heart-stopping vertical drop. Families can find plenty to keep the little ones happy in the Cartoon Network adventure zone. There’s rides inspired by the Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, and LazyTown.
Once you’ve braved all the rides, head to the IMG Worlds of Adventure meet and greet zone to snap a few selfies with the likes of Spider-Man, Thor and the Powerpuff Girls.
Wild Wadi Water Park:
Wild Wadi Water Park has more than 30 fantastic attractions that will keep you entertained all day long. This is the perfect place for a family day out, as there’s a real mixture of attractions that the whole family can enjoy, from thrilling water slides that send you speeding at 50mph, to a relaxing lazy river. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a thrill seeker, make sure you try ‘Jumeirah Sceirah’. This is one of the park’s most popular attractions and also the most daring. First, you’ll have to climb up the 32-metre-tall tower, before climbing into an enclosed capsule. It’s not long before the floor drops beneath you and you plummet down the 120-metre slide at a staggering speed of 80kph!
Tantrum Alley is the latest addition to Wild Wadi Water Park and is another one aimed at the braver guests. Prepare to face 3 exhilarating tornadoes and be spent spinning all the way to the bottom. Looking for something a bit tamer? Don’t worry, there are lots of family-friendly water slides at Wild Wadi Water Park.
Little ones will love the ‘Juha’s Dhow and Lagoon’ play area that features 5 water slides, water guns and more than 100 water activities, while we’d recommend the ‘Juha’s Journey’ lazy river, for the whole family to enjoy together. This 360-metre long lazy river is one of our favourite attractions and is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine. Wild Wadi Water Park is located right in front of the impressive Burj Al Arab, so you’ll be in a great location if you want to check it out afterwards.
Bollywood Parks Dubai:
If you want to do something a bit different on your holiday, Bollywood Parks Dubai is a great day out. This theme park is totally unique and is the only park of it’s kind in the world! It’s split into five fascinating zones, with each one inspired by famous Bollywood blockbusters. As you walk through the park, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported straight to India as the theming is so realistic.
One of our favourite things about this park is the incredible shows. The stunning ‘Rajmahal Theater’ hosts several spectacular Broadway-style shows throughout the week. Watch in amazement as dancers showcase their best moves in a Bollywood musical unlike any other.
If it’s thrills you’re after, check out the ‘Dabangg- Stunt Spectacular Show’ or join in the exhilarating chase for a Mafia boss on the 'Don- The Chase Begins' ride.
LEGOLAND Dubai has over 40 LEGO-themed rides, shows and building experiences for guests to enjoy. The LEGOLAND Dubai park is aimed at children between the ages of 2-12, so if you’re visiting with little ones, this is an ideal place to spend the day.
Top attractions include the fun Beetle Bounce, the Kid Power Towers which give little ones a great view of the park and the LEGO Driving School where you can get your very own LEGOLAND Driving license. You can also captain your own vessel at the Boating School!
If you want to get creative, head over to MINILAND, where you can see Dubai’s iconic skyline recreated in LEGO form. There’s more than 20-million bricks here, so you can get involved and make your own designs. Need a bit of a break? The LEGO Studios 4D cinema lets you sit back and relax… until the 4D effects kick in!
LEGOLAND Water Park Dubai:
Dubai is famous for its fantastic weather, but after spending a lot of time in the sunshine, we’re sure you’ll want to cool off. A water park is the best place to do just that and at LEGOLAND Water Park Dubai, you’ll have lots of fun too.
This is the best water park in Dubai for those visiting with young children, as the attractions are much tamer than some of the other water parks. There are 20 water slides and attractions in total, including family raft rides, an interactive playground and a LEGO wave pool. For a bit of friendly family competition, try ‘LEGO Slide Racers’. Up to 6 people can ride at a time and whoever gets to the bottom first will win!
Aquaventure Water Park:
The Aquaventure Water Park is located at the famous Atlantic the Palm hotel complex. Aquaventure Water Park not only has lots of exhilarating attractions but is also home to some impressive record-breaking rides. If you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll be in your element as there are some seriously scary slides here. Think you’re brave enough to try ‘The Leap of Faith’? It’s a 9-storey-tall mega slide with a near vertical drop through a clear tube that’s surrounded by sharks and rays! ‘Aquaconda’ is another exciting attraction designed to look like a giant sea serpent, and it also happens to be the world’s largest water slide.
Still fancy more thrills? ‘Poseidon’s Revenge’ invites you to step inside a clear capsule and wait for the terrifying moment when the floor falls from beneath you, sending you hurtling to the bottom at a rate of 60 kph.
If you’d prefer something more relaxing, don’t worry! There’s a lazy river (with a twist!) and a 700-metre private beach, which is perfect for lazing the day away.
