2. It’s home to the world’s first (and only!) Hunger Games rides
Calling all Hunger Games fans! At Motiongate Dubai, you can experience not just one, but two amazing attractions inspired by the Hunger Games. If you’re all about the big rides, the Capitol Bullet Train is a must try.
You’ll travel from District 12 to the Capitol on this high speed, adrenaline-fuelled roller coaster. Prepare to race around the track before facing a vertical loop and a zero-g roll! Make sure you look out for iconic landmarks from the movie along the way.
For something tamer, try the Panem Aerial Tour. You’ll get to see Panem like never before in an amazing 4D hovercraft motion simulator experience.
3. It has the only Bollywood theme park in the world
Dubai Parks & Resorts is home to the only Bollywood-inspired theme park in the world! You won’t find anything like it anywhere else, so if you’re planning a holiday to Dubai, a visit here is a must. There are attractions for all ages with a real mixture of action-packed rides for thrill-seekers as well as rides that the whole family can enjoy together. One of our favourites has to be ‘Don-The Chase Begins’ where you’ll embark on an epic chase through the city, to capture dangerous mafia boss Don.
Once you’ve finished exploring the park, end your day by watching an incredible Broadway-style Bollywood musical at the stunning Rajmahal Theater. This spectacular show is a must see, so don’t miss it!
4. You can get there for FREE!
Dubai Parks & Resorts is easy to get to from the city centre. In fact, it only takes approximately 35 minutes to drive there. But, don’t worry if you don’t have a car because you can get there for FREE on the Dubai Parks & Resorts Shuttle Bus. The bus stops at several locations which are easy to find, like the Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, the Beach JBR and Dubai Mall to name a few.
The shuttle bus also picks up from several local hotels, so make sure you check times and details in advance to find out the most convenient option for your trip. All of the buses are air conditioned, which means you can sit back and relax on your way to and from the parks.
Taxis in Dubai are fairly cheap too, so if you’re travelling in a group and would prefer to take a taxi you can split the cost between you. From Downtown Dubai a taxi would cost approximately 100 AED which is around £20!
5. You can eat, drink and shop at Riverland Dubai
Riverland Dubai is also part of Dubai Parks & Resorts. It’s a themed dining and retail destination that acts as the gateway to the parks. It’s split into four themed areas which will take you back in time to some of the “greatest eras of our past”. The Boardwalk lets you experience America in the 1950s, while India Gate takes you on a journey through India. The French Village is a beautiful area set in the late 1600s and the Peninsula has a 19th century theme with a huge outdoor venue that hosts concerts and festivals.
There are lots of fantastic restaurants here, serving mouth-watering dishes like sushi, succulent steak, juicy burgers, tacos, pasta and Neapolitan pizza. You can also grab a cup of coffee from the nearby Starbucks or Costa- a great way to start the day.
There are also lots of shops, where you can pick up souvenirs, jewellery and even stop off for a quick pampering session. The good news is, you don’t even need to have a park ticket to enjoy this area, so it’s a great place to come for dinner, or an evening stroll along the river.
