Haven’t we all grown bored and significantly cold towards the winter weather now? We at ATD are willing in the days of spring – big time! Those of you lucky enough to be Orlando bound with your Disney tickets for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival in the next few days will get a generous whiff of spring time air in the temperate Orlando climate pretty soon.
Those of us that’ll still be here, let’s look on the springier side of things - the days are getting longer and the mornings brighter! So, we thought with the lead up to Disney’s blooming Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Easter not far off and daffodils and blossoms soon to be flourishing in a beautiful signature of spring, we’d reacquaint ourselves with Flower, one of the cutest Disney characters ever, from Bambi, a Disney tale almost synonymous with spring.
You remember Flower? The cute little skunk in Disney’s Bambi, with the big blue eyes! We first meet Flower sleeping in a bed of flowers that Bambi confuses for as a flower when he’s learning to talk with his rabbit friend Thumper. Regardless, Bambi decides to name the skunk Flower, whose real name we never learn, and Flower happily accepts the name. Flower becomes good friends with Bambi and Thumper throughout the film. Eventually Flower goes into hibernation and re-emerges the following spring as an adult.
In the sixties Flower was one of the characters those with Disney tickets could meet and greet at Disneyland California, particular during the Easter period. Now you can see Flower in Disney World Hollywood Studios’ Fantasmic or in Disneyland California’s World of Colour. Those of you with Disney tickets will be able to witness Flower’s topiary at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival, at which Flower is now a regular resident, amongst many other Disney character topiaries.
We can't wait to spot our first daffodil of 2012, if you can't wait either, why not head to Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival, where you'll be able to see a whole world of flowers? The festival begins the 7th March and ends the 20th May. Get your Disney tickets here!
