1. Top of the Rock (and the Empire State Building!)
This is one of the best places to admire the spectacular New York City skyline and tick two amazing New York attractions off your list in one go. You'll also be able to get some breath-taking pictures too. Located on the 70th floor of the famous Rockefeller Center, the Top of the Rock observation deck gives you incredible panoramic views of the city. From one side, you can see the sprawling Central Park, and from the other, you’ll be able to see the iconic Empire State Building. While we’d also recommend visiting the Empire State Building separately, this is the place where you’ll be able to get that perfect Instagram shot with the famous landmark right in the centre. If you take your photo inside, we suggest sitting on the window ledge to capture that classic Instagram pose.
2. Unique Restaurants
New York City is a foodies dream, with lots of extreme eats and hundreds of restaurants throughout the city that are sure to catch your eye. Everyone loves a foodie Instagram shot, so make sure you’ve got your camera at the ready as you explore some of the city’s most popular eateries. Black Tap specialises in juicy burgers and “crazy shakes” covered in cookies, cream, candy floss, sweets and huge slices of cake, while Stuffed Ice Cream is famous for its unique ice cream bouquets which can have up to 21 scoops!

For an Instagram-worthy dinner, head to Pietro NoLita for mouth-watering Italian cuisine served in a restaurant that is decorated in floor to ceiling pink. Or, check out some of the other unique restaurants in New York, like the all-singing, all-dancing Ellen’s Stardust Diner, or the 230 Fifth rooftop bar and restaurant that has heated glass igloos in the winter.
3. Times Square
This bustling area is right in the heart of Manhattan, and a visit to New York City wouldn’t be complete until you’ve been here. Times Square has lots of shops, restaurants and bars to explore, as well as street entertainers and food carts, where you can pick up a classic New York hot dog on the go. But, when it comes to taking Instagram-worthy snaps, the famous red steps are where you need to go. You’ll find the steps just above the TKTS booth, but don’t worry, they’re impossible to miss. Whether you take a picture right at the top or turn around and snap a selfie with the whole of Times Square in the background, this shot is sure to be a hit.
4. Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is an iconic symbol of New York City and an Instagram post featuring Lady Liberty will instantly let all of your followers know that you’re in NYC. Make sure a visit here is on your must-do list, as this is one of the city’s top attractions. Whether you choose to visit the island and see the Statue of Liberty up close, or take a Statue of Liberty Sightseeing Cruise instead, you’ll be able to get plenty of amazing pictures.
5. Caffé Roma Wall Art

Caffé Roma is a lovely bakery located in the Little Italy neighbourhood. This café has been run by the same family since 1891 and is the perfect place to go for a great cup of coffee with something sweet on the side. All of the delicious confections are cooked on the premises, and you can expect a menu made up of homemade gelato, Italian cheesecake, biscotti, cookies and much more. The food itself is definitely worthy of a place on your Instagram, but if you’re looking to really brighten up your page, make sure you take a photo outside. There’s a huge, vibrant mural of Audrey Hepburn on the wall, and it really is picture perfect.
6. Central Park
If you want to get that perfect Instagram shot, a visit to Central Park is a must. The park’s appearance changes throughout the seasons, so no matter what time of year you visit, you’re guaranteed beautiful photos. Whether it’s pictures of the park in the bright sunshine, a photo of the crisp, colourful autumn leaves, or a shot of the park covered in a thick layer of snow, Central Park is always ready for its close-up! This enormous park is huge, spanning over 843 acres, and there’s so much to see. You might want to stop by Strawberry Fields to admire the ‘Imagine’ mosaic (the memorial for Beatles legend John Lennon) or the famous Alice in Wonderland Statue, to take some more photos while you’re there.
7. Washington Street
Washington Street is another popular spot for those hoping to get a great Insta snap. It’s located in the DUMBO neighbourhood which got its name for being “down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass” and that’s exactly what this Instagram shot is all about. If you stand in the intersection of Washington Street and Water Street, you’ll have the Manhattan Bridge towering above you in the background and even better- if you frame it right, the Empire State Building can be seen through the arches.
