For those who thought that Harry Potter could not get any more magical, on Thursday it was announced that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be receiving a Christmas makeover this coming November.
Christmas is always a big deal at Hogwarts, complete with indoor snow and giant trees, so it seems fitting that these festivities will be recreated at Universal Orlando. For the very first time, guests will be dazzled as Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with an array of festive décor. Alongside this, visitors will be tempted by a selection of holiday themed food and drink, taken straight from the books and movies. There will also be a selection of live entertainment throughout the park for all to enjoy.
As night falls, a festive spell will be cast onto Hogwarts castle. Using the latest mapped projection technology, guests will be treated to a yuletide display. The iconic castle will be draped in displays of décor, candlelight and festive moments inspired by the films.
For those of you thrilled by this revelation, you’ll be pleased to hear that you only have to wait 7 months to embrace the magic, as the Christmas transformation will be arriving in mid November.
New Holiday Parade
And if this wasn’t enough, Universal has several other festive goodies up their sleeves. This year, they will be introducing the new Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s. Universal have partnered with Macy's, the global leader in balloon entertainment, famous for their balloon display in the Thanksgiving parade in New York City. The parade is set to feature newly designed floats and some of Universal’s best loved characters, including Shrek and the cast of Madagascar.
However, what would a Christmas parade be without the big guy himself? Rumours suggest that Santa Claus will be making an appearance, with a certain set of mischievous Minions in tow!
Get involved in the festive magic daily from Nov. 18, 2017 through to Jan. 6, 2018.
