SeaWorld have announced that an exciting new area inspired by Sesame Street, is coming to their Orlando park! The colourful transformation will see the famous street recreated at the park, allowing guests to explore the neighbourhood for the very first time. There’s not too long to wait either as the new area will be unveiled in spring 2019.
Sesame Street will be something that both kids and big kids will love. Little ones will enjoy meeting the iconic characters, while grown-ups will feel a sense of nostalgia as they rediscover classic scenes from their childhood.
Want to know what you’ll be able to see? Well, SeaWorld have confirmed that you can walk through Abby Cadabby’s garden, visit Mr Hooper’s store, stop by Big Bird’s nest and even sit on the famous 123 stoop- a great photo opportunity! Keep your camera at the ready, as you’ll be able to get up close to your favourite characters, including Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster.
As part of the new expansion, there will be a spectacular new parade, with lively music, parade dancers and of course, plenty of Sesame Street characters. This will be another first for SeaWorld Orlando, as it will be the first time the park has ever had a daily parade. Make sure you get a good viewing spot, so that you can wave along to your Sesame Street friends as they glide past on dazzling floats.
That’s not all though. Jim Dean (SeaWorld Orlando President) revealed "We are excited to transport our guests into the colourful and creative world of Sesame Street through immersive theming, character interactions and interactive play”. The new area will feature wet and dry play areas and several new attractions. If you take a close look at the artist rendering image, you might notice something that looks a bit like an aerial trolley ride. No ride details have been confirmed yet, but we can’t wait to find out more about what’s in store.
