Staying at a Universal Orlando Resort Hotel gives you access to a host of incredible benefits like early access to the Universal parks, free transport to and from the parks and at Premier Universal hotels, FREE Universal Express Unlimited passes! But, that’s not all. There are lots more fantastic benefits of staying on-site, not to mention how much fun it is. There are so many fun things to do at the Universal hotels that you might not know about. Here are just a few of the unique things you can do during your hotel stay…

1. Swim in a pool with underwater music

We absolutely love the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel and if you’re staying on-site you have to take a dip. We know it’s hard to drag yourself away from the theme parks, but this is definitely worth it! The enormous pool is an impressive 12,000 square feet and boasts a 260-foot-long water slide, but that’s not even the best bit. This pool features an incredible underwater sound system, which means you can actually listen to music when you're underneath the surface! How many people can say they’ve done that?

Don’t worry if you’re not staying at the Hard Rock Hotel because as long as you’re staying on-site at a Universal Hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy this amazing pool.

If you want to make your holiday even more special, you can join the mischievous Minions for a fun-filled breakfast at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. You’ll be able to hang out with Despicable Me characters like Margo, Edith, Agnes, Gru and the Minions. Make sure you bring along your autograph book and camera so that you can capture the moment.

The breakfast buffet has tasty hot and cold dishes like fresh fruit, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, bagels, cereal, pastries and muffins. This is the perfect way to fill yourself up for a long day of exploring the Universal theme parks.

3. Take on the Kitchen Sink challenge

The Kitchen restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner but it’s also famous for its Kitchen Sink Challenge. To complete this epic challenge, you’ll have to finish a burger and a slice of cake in 30 minutes. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! This 10-ounce Angus beef burger is topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, lettuce and tomato with a side of French fries and a fried pickle.

Next up is a slice of the Kitchen cake, but of course this isn’t just any cake. This is a 3-pound slice of cake with 7 layers including brownies, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter crunch, cheesecake, pecan pie, devil’s food cake and vanilla chiffon cake all covered in a rich chocolate buttercream frosting with chocolate chips and chocolate sauce, with a scoop of ice cream on the side. Think you’re up to the challenge?

First, head over to the Bayliner Diner where you’ll find handy s’mores kits which have everything you need to make these tasty treats- marshmallows, chocolate, Graham crackers and a long stick for roasting. Then head over to one of Cabana Bay’s many fire pits and roast your s’mores over the crackling fire.
