The Universal Orlando Resort first announced plans for an exciting new ride called ‘Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon’ back in October last year. Themed on the hugely popular late-night talk-show ‘The Tonight Show’ (one of the most popular TV programmes in America), the new attraction will feature its hilarious host Jimmy Fallon. Fans of the show have been waiting eagerly since the announcement to hear more details of what the ride will be like, and finally Universal have shared some secrets!
Get ready for an adventure as Jimmy challenges you to an exhilarating race through New York City. Sound exciting? What’s even more exciting is that you’ll be racing through the big apple in the world’s first-ever flying theatre! Speed through underground subway tunnels and soar high above towering skyscrapers as you pass some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Universal have also promised that there will be a few surprises along the way, including the “weird, wild stuff” that has been conjured up in Jimmy’s imagination!
If you’re a fan of the show, you might recognise some familiar faces along the way. A series of colourful characters from Jimmy’s funniest sketches will be joining you for the journey. Look out for Sara from “Ew” and Jimmy in “Tight Pants”. With music provided by Grammy award-winning band The Roots, the original score is sure to get your heart racing on the high-speed chase.
The queuing area will be designed to look like Studio 6B (where The Tonight Show is filmed) with plenty going on to keep you entertained before the race. Screens will be playing classic clips from the show including the famous Lip Sync Battle segment, which will be a great way for you to catch up if you’ve never seen an episode before. There will also be a live performance from the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet, a retro-style video game experience and the chance to meet the show’s mascot, Hashtag the Panda. Make sure you check out the interactive desk that lets you write your very own thank you notes (just like Jimmy!) and send them on to your family and friends.
Visit the NBC studios to discover the 62-year history of ‘The Tonight Show’ and admire real set pieces and props that have featured on screen. There will be suits from previous hosts, desk props, video cameras and much more on display. This is a great opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of one of the longest running shows in TV history.
