Universal claim that ‘it’s never too soon to start panicking’, and with the recent announcement that there will be a haunted maze based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it’s time to start getting excited for one of Orlando’s most popular events! Starting from 16th September - 31st October it’s closer than you think, and tickets are already available for the 26th annual celebration (a separately ticketed event). Prepare to face the horrors that await as you enter a world of fear.
Discover a different side of the park as you explore after hours, but beware, your worst nightmares may well become a reality before the night is through! Universal have promised monsters, mutants and maniacs that are sure to induce dread in the bravest.
Each year the park is transformed into a horror fest, with haunted mansions, scare zones and live performances spread across the park, and it’s been confirmed that this year a Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted mansion will feature, with a scary maze dedicated to the classic thriller. Renowned for bringing some of the scariest horror movies of all time to life, Universal’s new addition is sure to be a spine-tingling affair. Follow the story of the terrifying cannibal family with a hunger for torturing their victims. With the gruesome Leatherface present, will you ever get out of the grisly maze?
Halloween Horror Nights fans might remember a similar haunted mansion from 2007; ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds’. Visitors who dared to explore the twisted Hewitt residence were met with disturbing scenes, before being chased by the chainsaw wielding Leatherface himself, alongside his creepy family. As such a long time has passed since the last sighting of Leatherface at the park, his return later this year is bound to be more petrifying than ever.
There are still no details on what the rest of the haunted mansions will be like, but this first announcement is a warning that Halloween Horror Nights is not for the faint hearted. As well as the spooky houses, there are outdoor scare zones which are often based on classic horror movies and TV programs. As you wander through the dimly lit park you’ll struggle to avoid the demons that are out to get you.
There will also be a number of frightening live performances, with past shows including ‘The Carnage Returns’ featuring the warped Jack the clown and The Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute. The experience begins from the minute you reach the park gates with the ‘opening scaremony’ performance. In recent years, guests have been greeted by crazed antagonists from The Purge and The Walking Dead zombies.
With everything seemingly creepier under the night sky, prepare for the echo of blood curdling screams ricocheting through the park. Expect scary surprises lurking around every corner and evil creatures waiting to jump out from the darkness. Are you ready to face your fears?
