A brand new café has just opened at the Universal Studios Florida park and if you’re looking for a bite to eat in between all that theme park exploring, this is the perfect place to go. The TODAY Café is inspired by the popular American TV talk show of the same name. If you’ve seen the show before, you’ll recognise the vibrant orange theming that runs throughout this new café. It will make you feel as though you’ve just stepped on set at Studio 1A. You also might recognise that some of the delicious dishes on the menu are inspired by different TODAY show personalities!
The TODAY Café will be serving up a range of specialty food and beverage options, with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. From freshly baked in-house pastries, to salads, sandwiches, cheese boards (who doesn’t love a cheese board?), wine & beer on tap and specially brewed coffee that has been created just for Universal Studios Florida. You can even watch the TODAY show live on the TV screens as you eat.
If you’ve already got your Universal Orlando tickets and are planning a visit to the park soon, make sure you check it out for yourself. Here are five dishes that you might want to try when you visit:
1. Al’s Avocado Toast
Al’s Avocado Toast is a seasonal dish inspired by TODAY weather anchor Al Roker. If you can’t resist a bit of avocado on toast, this is the dish for you. You’ll get a generous serving of tasty, smashed avocado on toasted farmhouse bread, topped with cherry tomatoes, artichokes, roasted red onions and tomato aioli… delicious!
2. Almond Butter Bagel
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’re going to love this one! You’ll get a toasted bagel topped with almond butter, fresh strawberries and chia seeds. There’s also a little surprise- dollops of rich Nutella swirled into cream cheese. A great choice for breakfast!
3. Mulberry Street Italian Sandwich
You’ll notice that lots of the sandwiches on the menu here have New York City-inspired names, including this one. The Mulberry Street Italian Sandwich is a crusty baguette filled with Porchetta, spicy capicola, provolone cheese, rocket, roasted tomato and basil aioli. We think this is going to be a big hit with guests.
4. Chinatown Chicken Salad
For something healthy and delicious, try the Chinatown Chicken Salad. This filling salad contains chicken, wasabi cashews, mushrooms, napa cabbage, radicchio and daikon sprouts, drizzled with a soy peanut vinaigrette.
5. Cheese Board
After a day of theme park fun, you’ll probably want to give your feet a rest. The TODAY Café is the perfect place to go when you want to take some time out. In the afternoon, you can enjoy wine and beer on tap with a tasty cheese board for two. This comes with a side of French bread, crackers and grapes. This is in tribute to the fourth hour of TODAY.
