Universal have just confirmed plans to open a Voodoo Doughnut shop at Universal CityWalk. While we’re sure you can guess what this shop specialises in from the name, for those of you who aren’t familiar with it, these are MUCH more than ordinary doughnuts! The good news is, there’s not long before you’ll be able to try them for yourself, as the shop will officially be opening this spring, next to the NBC Sports Grill and Brew.
Like we said, these delicious doughnuts are anything but ordinary. There will be over 50 mouth-watering flavours to choose from on the weird and wonderful menu, including the Dirt Doughnut, the Bacon Maple Bar, Grape Ape and of course, the famous Voodoo Doll doughnuts- filled with raspberry jam and topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake. These are a must-try for anyone wanting to get the true Voodoo Doughnut experience.
Voodoo Doughnut first launched in Portland, Oregon back in 2003. Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon loved experimenting with unique flavours to make these quirky creations, and ever since then, they’ve gathered a huge cult following thanks to their picture-perfect snacks. Described as “sinfully delicious and delightfully weird” Voodoo Doughnut is definitely worth a visit for those with a serious sweet tooth.
The new addition to Universal CityWalk, will be the first Voodoo Doughnut location east of the Mississippi. The shop will of course follow the same bright pink theming that can be found in the current shops across America. Make sure you keep checking our blog for more details.
