A host of exciting new experiences are set to open at Walt Disney World next year, featuring Mickey & Minnie, The Incredibles and more of your favourites…

2019 was already set to be a huge year for Walt Disney World Resort, with the opening of it’s largest ever single-themed expansion- Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But, Disney have now revealed that it’s going to be an even bigger, more exciting year than we first thought, as there will be a host of fantastic, limited-time experiences launching at the Disney theme parks. So, if you’re visiting Walt Disney World in 2019, you can expect not just one, but NINETEEN new experiences!

Here’s what’s in store…

1. Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration

This year, November 18th marks a very special occasion- the 90th birthday of Disney hero Mickey Mouse! To celebrate this incredible milestone there will be a host of new experiences for guests to enjoy, running right through to next year. One of these is an exciting new show called Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration. The lively performance will take place at the Magic Kingdom and will feature brand new music, lots of dancing and plenty of surprises.

2. Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party

Another new experience in honour of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, is the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party. You better brush up on your best dance moves, as this fantastic party is going to get everyone on their feet! The party will take place in front of the towering Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom and everyone is invited. Look out for Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the gang, as they party alongside live singers who will be performing new versions of classic songs from the Mickey Mouse Club.

3. Mickey & Minnie Merchandise and Food

To commemorate the special occasion, there will be a new range of merchandise inspired by Disney’s beloved duo Mickey and Minnie Mouse. That’s not all though. Look out for a selection of tasty Mickey-themed treats during your visit to the Magic Kingdom Park.

4. Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party

If you love the Lion King (who doesn’t?) you’re going to love this incredible new experience. The Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party will be a fun-filled celebration, hosted by Rafiki and Timon. This is to mark the 25th anniversary of the Lion King movie, so make sure you arrive ready to party!

5. The Dapper Dans

The Dapper Dans will be carrying on the party spirit over at the Magic Kingdom. If you’ve visited before, you may have already seen this talented barbershop quartet perform on Main Street USA. Next year, the Dapper Dans will be adding to their impressive routine, with some brand new songs in honour of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

6. Meet The Incredibles

This is something that both the kids and big kids will love! Head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the chance to meet your favourite superheroes in person. Pixar Place will be transformed into a Municiberg city block where you’ll find this famous family. Get ready to snap a few selfies!

7. An “Incredible” Dance Party

There will be lots of parties to attend at Walt Disney World next year and this is another one you must put on your list. This ‘incredible’ dance party is being held to celebrate the amazing superhero deeds of Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone. Make sure you don’t miss it.

8. Find Jack-Jack

Incredibles fans will know that the youngest member of the family is one of the most mischievous. In this new experience Jack-Jack seems to have gone missing, but if you look for clues on Pixar Place, you might just find him.

9. Meet Edna Mode

This eccentric designer is known for creating super suits for the Incredibles and their pals, and in her opinion, she’s the best super suit designer in the world! In 2019, you’ll be able to meet her for yourself at a new location on Pixar Place. You’ll even get to admire some of her best creations.

10. Lion King Photo Opportunities

If you’re looking for the perfect place to take your pictures, look no further. Next year, there will be a host of new 3D photo opportunities set up around Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, and they’re all going to be Lion King-themed. Each one will represent a classic scene from the movie to commemorate the 25th anniversary.

Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts

2019 will see the return of Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts for the third year. The festival is all about celebrating visual and performing arts, with lots of new entertainment lined up for next year’s event. The International Festival of the Arts will begin on 18th January, running until 25th February.

12. Disney on Broadway Concert Series

One of our favourite things about Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts is the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, and it’s a fan favourite too. The concert series gives guests the chance to watch live concerts for free, as Broadway artists take to the stage to perform iconic Disney songs. In 2019, the Disney on Broadway Concert Series will be bigger than ever, expanding to seven days a week.

13. Meet Mike & Sulley

Another new meet and greet experience to look forward to next year is with Monsters Inc duo Mike and Sulley. You’ll find this pair inside the Walt Disney Presents attraction. If you’re brave enough, you can step inside a door that will take you directly to the monster universe!

14. Limited-Time Magic

While Disney may have revealed a host of amazing new experiences, they are still keeping quiet on some of the details. They have confirmed that there will be lots more limited-time magic entertainment at the Magic Kingdom in 2019, with experiences popping up periodically around the park.

All of these fantastic new experiences will be running from early in the year, but that’s not all! There’s much more to see if you’re visiting later too…

15. Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

The festival starts on 6th March and finishes on 3rd June.

16. Garden Rocks Concert Series

The Garden Rocks Concert Series is a highlight of the International Flower & Garden Festival. Like the name suggests, it’s a series of lively concerts held at the park and you can enjoy these for free with your Walt Disney World tickets. In 2019, the Garden Rocks Concert Series will be longer than ever, with a total of 270 concerts over the 90-day event!

17. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy

This action-packed show will be opening in spring 2019 and is set to be a must see. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Cars super-fan or you’ve never seen it before, you’re guaranteed to be entertained at this spectacular new show. Head over to Hollywood Studios to see Lightning McQueen show off all the skills he’s learned as he speeds around the track. You never know what’s around the corner here, so be prepared for a few mishaps along the way!

18. Meet Cruz Ramirez

After making a guest appearance in the show, Cruz Ramirez will be waiting outside the academy to meet guests. Get your camera ready and prepare for your close up!

19. New Firework Spectacular

If you’ve visited Disney’s Epcot park before, you’ve probably admired the stunning night-time firework show IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Next summer, this famous show will be coming to an end, but if you’re a fan, don’t worry! Disney have got something even more spectacular planned to take its place. We don’t know too much just yet, but Disney have confirmed that the replacement will “continue the tradition of nightly entertainment on the World Showcase Lagoon”.
