1. Ride Avatar Flight of Passage
This is at the top of our list, because it’s simply unmissable! A visit to Pandora wouldn’t be complete until you’ve experienced this incredible ride, so make sure it’s at the top of your list too. Avatar Flight of Passage lets you fly over the mesmerising world of Pandora on the back of a banshee. Before you can embark on your journey, you must first be paired with an Avatar.
Once you’ve been matched, climb onto the back of your banshee and prepare for take-off! You’ll really feel like you’re flying, as you soar high above the land. The exhilarating journey is so realistic, that you’ll be able to feel the ocean spray as you fly over the ocean, take in the smell of the plants when you swoop into the Valley of Mo’ara and even feel the banshee breathing as you fly.
Top tip- We’d recommend using one of your FastPass+ reservations for this attraction to save time queuing.
2. And Na’vi River Journey
Na’vi River Journey is another exciting attraction, that the whole family can enjoy together. If you prefer tamer rides, then this is the one for you. Climb aboard specially designed canoes, before floating along a sacred river into the depths of a bioluminescent rainforest where everything around you glows! Look out for amazing creatures hiding in the rainforest and the Na’vi Shaman of Songs. You’ll be able to hear her singing as she sends positive energy out into the forest through her powerful music.
3. Snap a selfie in front of the floating mountains
If you’ve watched the Avatar movie you’ll be familiar with the iconic floating mountains. At Pandora- The World of Avatar, you’ll be able to get up close to them. As soon as you walk into the land, you’ll be amazed by the striking beauty of the mountains. They definitely make for an Instagram-worthy snap! The Swotu Wayä Na'vi Drum Ceremony takes place in the Valley of Mo’ara (right near the mountains) several times a day, so try to catch this while you’re there.
4. Eat at the Satu’li Canteen
The Satu’li Canteen is the main restaurant in Pandora. The food is delicious and healthy, with means you can enjoy lunch guilt-free. One of the great things about the Satu’li Canteen, is that you can create your own dish, choosing exactly what you want. Start by selecting either wood-grilled chicken, slow-roasted grilled beef, fish fillet or chilli-spiced crispy fried tofu.
Next, choose a base for your dish, from quinoa and vegetable salad, mixed whole grains and rice, red and sweet potato hash or romaine and kale salad. This will be topped with crunchy vegetable slaw and yoghurt Boba balls. Finally, choose a sauce to go on top. The options include charred onion chimichurri, creamy herb dressing or black bean vinaigrette. Make sure you save some room for dessert, as the Avatar-inspired sweet treats are definitely worth a try.
When you’re finished, head next door to Pongu Pongu. You can quench your thirst here with specialty ales and quirky cocktails. We’d recommend the glowing Mo’ara Margarita!
5. Visit Pandora at night
One of the best ways to end your day at the park is by visiting Pandora at night. The land looks and feels totally different when night falls, and you won’t want to miss it. During the day the floor takes in light from the sun, so when you walk through the land at night, the ground beneath you will glow! You’ll be surrounded by hundreds of dazzling bioluminescent plants that bring the land to life and let you experience Pandora in a whole new light…literally!
6. Get a Na’vi makeover
Did you know, there’s more than one way to transform yourself into an Avatar at Pandora. Little ones will love the ‘Colors of Mo’ara’ kiosk, where you can get your face painted with a unique Avatar-inspired pattern.
If you want to take it to the next level, head to Windtraders souvenir shop, where you can create your own Avatar action figure. The best thing is, it will look exactly like you! The Ace Avatar Maker machine uses state of the art technology and a facial capture scanner to make a figure that’s a miniature version of you. You’ll be able to choose the Avatar’s body style, hairstyle, eye colour and facial striping pattern too.
