Disney revealed that the opening of Star Wars Land will now be earlier due to the incredible level of guest interest. This will give fans the chance to discover the immersive galaxy much sooner, and we can’t wait!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will open in two phases. On 29th August phase one will see the unveiling of an incredible ride called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which lets you take control and fly this iconic spacecraft through the galaxy! You’ll also be able to explore a collection of merchant shops and sample unique food and drink inspired by the Star Wars movies, including Blue Milk.
When phase two opens later in 2019, you’ll be able to try out the second ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This ride will put you right in the middle of an action-packed battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will be called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This is when the land will be fully open for guests to enjoy all of the amazing experiences that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will bring.
If you’re planning on visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland California between 31st May and 23rd June, it’s important to know that you’ll need to make a specific Star Wars reservation in advance. This is completely free but must be done to gain access to the incredible new land. You can do this easily online on the Disneyland California website. If you’re staying on-site at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels during this time period, you’ll receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your stay.
