Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Disney’s new Star Wars land for some time now and while there’s still a while to go until you can explore it for yourself, Disney have been keeping fans up to date with plenty of exciting new announcements.
The latest news came this weekend, when Disney revealed brand new details and pictures for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They shared an image of the main village on Planet Batuu and confirmed that it will be called ‘Black Spire Outpost’.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is located on Planet Batuu and Black Spire Outpost will be the largest settlement there. The outpost is home to lots of colourful characters and is an infamous stop for traders, adventurers and smugglers alike. Its location off the beaten path has made it a kind of haven for those travelling around the Outer Rim and Wild Space.
If you look at the artist concept images, you’ll notice the impressive landscape. Disney explained that Black Spire Outpost is “widely known for the petrified remains of its once towering ancient trees”. The spires stand guard over the land and have become an iconic part of the planet, attracting many curious adventurers.
Guests will be able to step inside this mysterious world and become immersed into the action, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is officially unveiled in autumn 2019. There will also be two amazing attractions to enjoy. One will let you take control and pilot the famous Millennium Falcon spacecraft, while the other will put you right in the middle of an action-packed battle between the Resistance and the First Order!
