The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a foodies’ dream, and has now officially returned to the park for its 21st annual celebration! Kicking off last week, the festival began earlier than ever, offering guests the chance to indulge in an extra two weeks of amazing food & drink, and lively music. If you’re visiting Orlando soon, the festival is running until the 14th November, and it’s definitely worth stopping by. You’ll be able to savour great tasting flavours from around the world before quenching your thirst with an ice cold craft beer or a refreshing fine wine!
If you hadn’t already guessed from the name, this festival is of course all about incredible food and wine! There are a total of 30 different kiosks throughout the World Showcase, each serving up tasty traditional dishes from countries all over the world. With over 200 mouth-watering snacks to choose from, it’s best to visit the festival when you’re feeling hungry! The food is reasonably priced, with each dish costing between $5-$10 on average. The mouth-watering authentic cuisine will without doubt keep you coming back for more! Here are some of our favourite dishes:
This steamed bun is loaded with succulent roasted duck, onions and a drizzling of hoisin sauce, and is available from the China pavilion.
This new item on the menu at the Africa pavilion is a must try! Flavoursome butter chicken (with just the right amount of spice) with a serving of steamed rice and warm naan bread on the side.
Try the tender mojo pork with black beans, cilantro rice and pickled red onions at the Islands of the Caribbean kiosk.
There are also plenty of dishes to satisfy your sweet tooth. Our top pick is the ‘Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle’ served with a unique warm whisky caramel sauce. This melt in the mouth dessert can be found at the Chocolate Studio, where you can also sample chocolate raspberry torte and combine both the food and wine aspect of the festival, with the red wine chocolate truffles.
Once you’ve tried some of the amazing international cuisine, head to the America Gardens Theatre Stage to enjoy a live concert featuring performances from famous pop and rock stars. This year, there will be a total of 26 brilliant acts performing nightly from 5:30pm, as part of the Eat to the Beat concert series. Boys II Men, Billy Ocean, Hanson and Wilson Phillips are just a few of the fantastic artists on the line-up.
At the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, there really is so much to do. If filling yourself up with delicious food and drink isn’t enough, go behind-the-scenes and discover an introduction to wine making at ‘Seasons of the Vine’, attend the ‘Rocking Burger Block Party' (this is a separately ticketed event shown in the main picture) or admire impressive chocolate sculptures while tasting plenty of samples at ‘The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar’. You really won’t want to miss a thing!
