Epcot is famous for it’s incredible festivals and one of its most popular is starting today! Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival will transform the park into an even more beautiful and colourful place to explore, and if you’re visiting Orlando soon, you really should check it out. As well as the stunning floral displays (featuring some very familiar faces!), there’s “how-to” workshops, live entertainment and a mouth-watering menu.
As you wander through the park, you’ll notice impressive topiaries inspired by some of your favourite Disney characters. Look out for the likes of Anna & Elsa, Beauty & the Beast, Lady & the Tramp, Mickey & Minnie, Snow White and much more. Make sure you’ve got your camera handy, as you’ll want to take plenty of photos.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite walking around the park, stop at one of the new outdoor kitchens located throughout the World Showcase. There’s more than a dozen stops to choose from, each with a specialty menu made up of creative and tasty dishes. With so much to choose from it can be hard to know where to start, so make sure you pick up a leaflet when you arrive. The Honey Tandoori Chicken Flatbread (Showcase Plaza), Beef Brisket and Smoked Pork Belly Sliders (The American Adventure) and the Jamaican Braised Beef are just a few of our favourites.
If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, we’d recommend visiting Florida Fresh (between France and Morocco) to try the Key Lime Tart with Toasted Meringue. We also love the Lemon Scones with Crème Fraiche and Mixed Berries (UK Pavilion) and the Tropical Mousse Cake (Showcase Plaza) which is made of layers of Passion Fruit Cake, Coconut Mousse and a Tropical Fruit Glaze with Fresh Pineapple… delicious!
The best way to end your night at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival is by enjoying some live music at the America Gardens Theater. Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, as part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series, the park will host a series of live concerts starring world-famous artists. This year, STARSHIP, Survivor, Smash Mouth, the Village People and the Spinners are all on the line-up.
