Halloween might not be on your mind just yet, but at Walt Disney World preparations are already underway for the spookiest event of the year- Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The annual Magic Kingdom event will begin on 17th August, running on select nights through to 31st October, so if you’re visiting during this time, make sure you join in for some family-friendly fun. This amazing celebration invites you to go trick or treating, meet Disney villains and watch spectacular shows, but as well as all of these fan favourites, there will be a host of fantastic new experiences for guests to enjoy.
Some of the park’s most popular rides will be transformed especially for the spooky season. The Mad Tea Party will become even more colourful with brand new lighting and effects. Depending on the colour of your costume, you might find that your clothes could be transformed under the lights too! Space Mountain will also display new special effects as well as a lively soundtrack that will get your heart-racing. If you thought this ride couldn’t possibly get any better, you must try it this Halloween!
The famous Pirates of the Caribbean ride should also be on your must-try list. A gang of new pirates will be invading the attraction in an attempt to recruit aspiring buccaneers to help hunt for “Gunpowder Pete”. If you’re visiting with little ones, make sure you visit Storybook Circus too. The Disney Junior characters are hosting a special dance party called ‘Disney Junior Jam’ and children will love joining in.
There’s so much to see around the park so make sure you spend some time exploring. You’ll have the opportunity to meet rare Disney characters in their finest Halloween costumes, pick up plenty of sweets from trick or treat stations all over the park and watch amazing shows. Make sure you get a good viewing spot for the Boo-to-You parade as this is one of the highlights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You’ll get to see all of the Disney heroes (and villains!) in one place as they glide along Main Street USA in a series of dazzling floats. Finish off the night by watching the stunning Happy HalloWishes firework show. There’s nothing like a Disney firework display, so trust us when we say you really don’t want to miss it!
