It may only be April, but we’re already excited for Halloween because Disney have just announced plans to introduce a brand new Halloween fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom Park later this year! The new show will be part of the incredible entertainment during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. If you’re not familiar with this popular party, it’s a family-friendly event that takes place at the park each year. It happens after hours, so guests can enjoy exploring the park late at night, with trick or treating, live entertainment and spooky character encounters all part of the fun!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event that will run on select nights from 16th August- 1st November. While there’s lots of entertainment lined up that you’ll recognise from previous years, Disney have confirmed that this year there will be a brand new fireworks spectacular. This is the first time in 14 years that a new show has been introduced to the celebrations and we can’t wait to see it!
Disney shared an artist concept image of the new firework show, giving fans a glimpse at what it will be like. There will be state-of-the-art projection effects, lighting, lasers and breath-taking fireworks. The show will tell a story of how anything can happen on Halloween night. You’ll follow Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy on an eerie adventure, where they find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. As they move from one room of the house to another, look out for ghosts, skeletons and lots of Disney villains!
There’s currently no name for the display but we’ve got our fingers crossed that Disney will reveal more exciting details soon.
If you’ve been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before, you’ll be pleased to hear that some of the popular entertainment that you know and love will be returning. One of the event highlights has to be ‘Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade’. Choose your perfect viewing spot along Main Street USA early, so that you can wave to your favourite characters as they glide past on a series of spook-tacular floats. You’ll come face to face with some of Disney’s most menacing villains too, so be prepared!
You’ll also be able to meet characters throughout the park, so have you autograph book at the ready. The characters will be dressed in their finest Halloween attire and you’ll even get the chance to meet some rare characters that you wouldn’t usually find at the park, like Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
There will also be lots of live entertainment, including the popular ‘Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular’ stage show which features the Sanderson Sisters and a host of Disney villains. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to go trick or treating either. Pick up a bag when you arrive and look out for the candy stations located throughout the park.
