Back in 2017, Bob Chapek (the Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products) announced plans to introduce a brand new transportation system called the Disney Skyliner, to the Walt Disney World Resort. Construction is now well underway, and Bob Chapek has just revealed that the Disney Skyliner will officially be unveiled to guests at the “beginning of fall 2019”!
If you haven’t heard of the Disney Skyliner yet, it’s an amazing cable car service that will transport guests throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, offering incredible bird’s-eye views along the way. The state-of-the-art gondola system will connect both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios park with four Disney Resort Hotels, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort which is expected to open next year.
When the Disney Skyliner opens next year, it will not only offer guests a convenient and stylish way to travel, but also a totally new way to experience the Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll have the opportunity to take in spectacular views of the Disney theme parks on your journey. Guests travelling to Epcot will be welcomed with impressive never before-seen views of the World Showcase. Make sure you’ve got your camera with you to capture the picture-perfect moment!
You’ll be joined by a few familiar friends on the way too, as each gondola features images of your favourite Disney characters. You can expect to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Belle, the Beast and many more. Make sure you keep checking our blog for all the latest news on the Disney Skyliner and the Florida theme parks.
