Disney recently sent out a survey (via a third party) asking customers their thoughts on a huge new development at the Walt Disney World Resort. The survey has caused Star Wars fans to get extremely excited, because if the rumours are true, it could mean that Disney are set to open a brand new STAR WARS HOTEL!
That’s right! The survey featured art renderings of what the new hotel could look like, and we must say, they look incredible. One of the most exciting possibilities, is that the hotel could actually be designed to look like the iconic Millennium Falcon! That means, Star Wars fans will be able to sleep inside the most famous space craft in the galaxy.
If the plans go ahead, the luxury hotel will also have a swimming pool, a fitness centre and even a water park. That’s not all though, guests who choose to dine in the ‘cantina’ will be served their meals by droid waiters! Expected to be located close to the new Star Wars Land (opening in 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios), a stay at the hotel will allow guests to take part in a series of ‘secret missions’ both ‘on board’ (i.e. in the hotel) and ‘on planet’ (in the theme park).
The new 14-acre Star Wars Land is Disney’s largest single-themed expansion ever, so we think this is the perfect time to introduce a new Star Wars themed hotel as part of the development. Guests will be able to venture into a galaxy far far away, as they take control of the Millennium Falcon, get caught up in an exciting battle between a group of stormtroopers and resistance fighters, and come face to face with the heroes and villains of the saga.
Can’t wait that long? There are already lots of exciting Star Wars attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the action-packed Star Tours- The Adventures Continue and a special Jedi Training programme for young Padawan’s. There’s also meet and greet experiences with Chewbacca and Kylo Ren, as well as the epic Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular- a night-time firework show that you won’t forget.
While the plans have still not been confirmed by Disney, we’ve got our fingers crossed!
