This weekend, Disney fanatics from around the world will gather in Anaheim, California, for the D23 Expo. The annual event is always a hub of information and exciting revelations, as to what guests can expect from the Disney parks around the world in the coming years.
Last night, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, Bob Chapek, shared some exciting news - a preview of what’s to come this weekend, no doubt! Let’s have a look at what he announced in more detail:
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
This all-new Star Wars holiday experience is coming to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and is a first-of-its-kind experience where guests will be able to check in for a two-night, galactical adventure aboard a starship. Interact with characters and become active participants once aboard, in stories that unfold around you on your galactic journey. Called the Halcyon, visitors to the D23 Expo this weekend will be able to a new model and incredible visuals of the starcruiser inside the Disney Parks “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion.
Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana”
As part of the epic transformation of Epcot, a new attraction based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios hit film “Moana”, is coming to the park. This is the first-ever attraction based on the film, and will let guest interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.
The Epcot Experience
Staying with Epcot, and from this October, guests will be able to see all of the exciting plans for the park at a new experience center in the Odyssey Events Pavilion, called Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience. This is another unique offering, the first-of-its-kind within a Disney park, where guests will discover engaging and interactive exhibits that allow you to step inside the relentless innovation, energy and excitement and see some never-before-revealed details driving the future of Epcot.
There have already been details that new immersive Super Hero theme lands are going to be built at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland® Paris, but Disney have now revealed the names of these lands - Avengers Campus. When you visit the Avenger Campus, you will become part of an interconnected, global narrative that goes from California to Paris to Hong Kong. The Avengers are recruiting extraordinary people to join them - could you be one of them? At the Disney Parks Pavilion at the D23 Expo, visitors will learn about the in-story experience where they’ll discover why the Avengers are building these campuses. On the Sunday, more details will be shared about what to expect when they open.
The Disney Parks Pavilion at D23 Expo will be home to a number of excitement announcements and further details about planned additions to Disney parks around the world. More details about the TRON Lightcycle Run attraction coming to Magic Kingdom Park will be revealed, for example.
