Its lights out at Walt Disney World as it was announced yesterday that the dazzling Main Street Electrical Parade would soon be making its way through the Magic Kingdom for the last time. If you’re visiting Walt Disney World soon, make sure you take the opportunity to enjoy the half a million lights shining along Main Street one last time before the parade officially stops on 9th October. It’s not gone forever though, as excitingly, the parade will be making a grand return to its original home, the Disneyland Park in California!
This incredible parade originally made its debut at Disneyland California back in 1972 and Disney fans will be able to enjoy it all over again from early next year. It’s been 20 years since it last featured at the park so its return is sure to be a big hit. It will only be running for a limited time though, so if you’d love to see the magic return, make sure you don’t miss out! In the meantime, there’s still a chance to catch the ‘Paint the Night’ show, a similar light spectacular that will continue to run until 5th September.
If you’re not familiar with the Main Street Electrical Parade, it’s a park favourite that comes to life after dark. A breath-taking display of enormous floats glide down Main Street USA illuminated by hundreds of thousands of sparkling lights. Look out for huge dragons, gleaming ships and glittering steam trains to name just a few. All of your favourite Disney characters are there too on-board the most stunning floats you’ve ever seen! With an iconic soundtrack echoing in the background and a magical feeling in the air there’s no better way to create everlasting memories of your visit.
With the Main Street Electrical Parade moving away from Walt Disney World, we can’t wait to see if a new exciting attraction will take its place!
