Something exciting is coming to Disneyland Paris with the launch of the Festival of Pirates and Princesses later this week! From 31st March-31st May, guests will be able to choose whether they are ‘Team Princess’ or ‘Team Pirate’ before joining in a host of incredible limited time only activities. Here’s what you can expect…
Whether you want to live out a true Disney fairy-tale or embark on a pirate adventure, the choice is yours. If you’re not too sure which side your allegiance lies, the brand new outdoor show called ‘Disney Pirate or Princess: Make your Choice!’ might help you decide. There will be more than 85 performers taking part, but you’ll also become a big part of the show. Director Christophe Leclercq has revealed that “this is the first time we have ever immersed our guests so fully in an outdoor show”. So, get ready for some serious fun!
Once you’ve made your choice, it’s time to get into the spirit. Little ones can get their face painted and purchase limited edition merchandise that will really make them look the part. Of course, you’ll be able to meet some of your favourite Disney characters too. Head over to the Princess Pavilion, where you’ll find the likes of Belle and Jasmine dressed in brand new dresses that have been created especially for the occasion. Stop by Pirate’s Beach (if you dare!) to meet the menacing Captain Hook and the rest of his crew.
One of the highlights of the event is the daily parade. Make sure you arrive early to get a good viewing spot, as you won’t want to miss this! Watch in amazement as the dazzling floats glide through the park with classic princesses and pirates on board. On the princess float, look out for Cinderella, Belle and Rapunzel to name a few. Christophe confirmed “There will be nine Disney Princesses in total, as well as Moana- and they will be joined by none other than Mickey Mouse!” On the pirate float, you’ll see a huge galleon sailing down Main Street, with Captain Hook and Mr Smee at the helm. You’ll also see Peter Pan, Wendy and Minnie Mouse dressed in her best buccaneer outfit.
That’s not all though. There’s lots more special events you can enjoy as part of the park’s 25 anniversary celebrations. Stop by the recently transformed Pirates of the Caribbean ride for a first glimpse of Captain Barbossa and end the day at the stunning Disney Illuminations fireworks show, which is packed with music, heart-warming moments and iconic Disney scenes.
