Construction has officially begun on an exciting new attraction called ‘Ocean Explorer’ at SeaWorld San Diego! Opening in spring 2017, the Ocean Explorer expansion will invite guests into a totally unique immersive area of the park, where they can experience thrilling rides and learn all about SeaWorld’s rescue missions.
Promising to “create an expedition of wonder across the seven seas”, Ocean Explorer is set to be unmissable! The signature ride of the new attraction will feature mini submarines where guests will become researchers and embark on a mission to collect data and discover ways that they can help the beautiful creatures that live in the ocean. Experience the rescue missions that SeaWorld carry out for yourself on this 3-minute simulator ride where you’ll come face to face with the incredible marine life. Look out for Giant Pacific octopuses, Japanese spider crabs, Moray eels and stunning species that have never been seen at the park before.
This amazing new attraction aims to inspire visitors by explaining the dangers the animals can face in the wild and highlighting the ways in which we can help to protect them. Brian Morrow (Vice President of theme park experience design) described Ocean Explorer as being the “next chapter in creating experiences that matter for our guests”.
The new expansion will also feature another exhilarating ride that the kids will love! Soar through a cloud of bubbles on this swinging ride, where the ropes are actually enormous dangling jellyfish tentacles! SeaWorld San Diego have revealed that there will be a total of 5 new rides in the expansion, so keep checking our blog to find out all of the latest news. We can’t wait to see what else is in store!
