The Best Theme Parks & Water Parks in Spain
Top 5 Spanish theme parks & water parks!
If you’re planning a holiday to Spain and want to add in some theme park fun, these are our top picks...

PortAventura Park

PortAventura is the biggest theme park in Spain and is one of the most popular theme parks in the world. It’s got exhilarating attractions, fun shows, shops and restaurants. If you’re a serious thrill seeker, this is definitely the park for you. It’s located in Salou (about an hour away from Barcelona), so it’s the perfect choice if you’re staying nearby.

Furius Baco at PortAventura Park

So, what can you expect? Well, PortAventura has six different worlds to explore and is home to some seriously scary roller coasters. Furius Baco is one of the park’s most popular rides, so we’d suggest braving this first to avoid waiting in line. Hold on tight as you’re catapulted from 0-135 km/h in just 3 seconds! You’ll cross ditches, race through tunnels and skim the water of the Mediterrània Lake. Furius Baco definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted but it’s a must-try.

PortAventura roller coasters

If you’re all about the coasters, you’ll also love Shambhala- a 76 metre tall roller coaster that boasts the highest and longest drop in the park, as well as Dragon Khan which is an epic coaster that features 8 loops and reaches speeds of more than 68mph.

PortAventura Sesame Street

If you’re not a fan of the big coasters or are visiting with children who are too small to ride them, don’t worry! There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained at PortAventura. Make sure you check out the SésamoAventura world where you can meet the Sesame Street gang and experience rides that are inspired by this famous show. You’ll find a mini coaster called Tami Tami which is a great option if you want to give the little ones a calmer introduction to roller coasters.

PortAventura also has a family-friendly canoe ride, a unique version of the famous teacup attraction and a kid’s playground.

Siam Park

Siam Park water park Tenerife

Siam Park is the best water park in the whole world and that’s not just what we think. It’s actually been voted the best water park in the world by TripAdvisor users for several years now! This incredible park has a beautiful Thai theme and can be found in Costa Adeje, which is located in Tenerife- the largest of the Canary Islands.

This is an ideal place to go to cool off from the heat and you’ll be able to enjoy the perfect combination of full-on thrills and relaxing experiences while you’re there. That’s right, Siam Park has it all, from incredible water slides to a gorgeous sandy beach that’s perfect for lazing the day away.

Siam Park Tower of Power

If you’re feeling brave, take on the epic Tower of Power water slide. This has to be one of Siam Park’s most famous attractions, but it’s also the park’s most terrifying! As you walk up to the top of the tower, you'll have impressive views all around you, but you might not be able to take them in once the adrenaline starts to build. Get into position and prepare to plummet 28-metres back down to the ground, racing at high speeds of up to 80km/h! You’ll speed through a huge aquarium filled with sharks and rays which makes this experience even more memorable.

Siam Park Dragon water slide

If you’re looking for big attractions, make sure you try Dragon, which has a totally vertical tunnel and a huge dragon guarding the ride, Kinnaree, which sends you speeding up and down a funnel like a boomerang, and Singha which is known as a “water roller coaster”. This attraction features high speed curves and 14 direction changes!

If you’re visiting with the family, try Naga Racer for a bit of friendly competition. You’ll go up against one another on this attraction in a race to get to the bottom first and be crowned champion. There’s also a lazy river called the Mai Thai River, which is a great place to unwind. You’ll get to admire the beautiful exotic theming of the park as you glide past.

Siam Park Beach

If you’re not a big fan of water rides, you can find a nice sunny spot on Siam Beach. There are plenty of sun loungers, so you can enjoy a relaxing beach day before taking a dip. Be warned- when the siren signals it means that the waves are coming. These are the highest artificial waves in the world, reaching up to 3-metres-high. There’s also a bicycle that stops on the beach to sell ice-cold mojitos!

When you book your Siam Park tickets with Attraction Tickets Direct, you’ll also get a FREE burger! Or, you can choose the Siam Park All-Inclusive Ticket which includes all your food and drink plus unlimited fast passes for the rides.

Ferrari Land

Ferrari Land is an incredible theme park in Salou that offers high-octane thrills and unforgettable experiences. We think this is definitely one that the big kids will love just as much as the little ones!

Red Force at Ferrari Land

Red Force is undoubtedly one of the park’s most popular rides, and it also happens to be absolutely terrifying. This record-breaking coaster is both the tallest and fastest coaster in Europe, making it a must-try for those of you that are crazy about coasters. Prepare for a breath-taking launch as you accelerate from 0-180 km/h in just 5 seconds, before reaching heights of 112-metres! If you’re visiting with children, they won’t have to feel left out as there’s a miniature version of this epic coaster called Junior Red Force which lets them experience the thrills on a smaller scale.

Thrill Towers: Bounce-Back Tower is another attraction to add to your list. This ride stands at 55-metres-tall and is designed to replicate the movement of genuine Ferrari engine pistols. You’ll launch upwards before racing back down again at full speed. This is another attraction that has a smaller version for the kids. Kids’ Tower is a free fall tower for children, that is 9-metres-tall. The free fall and bounce back elements let the kids experience the same sensations as the adults.

Ferrari Land also has lots of dining options for you to choose from, including an Italian restaurant and ice cream parlour. You can enjoy live music throughout the day as well as an acrobatic show unlike any other. If you want to pick up some souvenirs to take back home, you can stop by the Ferrari Land Store where you’ll find exclusive Ferrari merchandise.

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

If you’re a big fan of aqua parks, we’re sure you’ll love this one. PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park is a great place for a family day out and will add an extra dose of fun to your holiday. This is one of the most popular water parks in Spain and is a big hit with guests looking for some adrenaline pumping fun on their holiday. Don’t worry though, there’s lots of calmer attractions too.

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park spans over 50,000 m2 with lots of exciting attractions to keep you entertained during your visit. If you want to conquer the parks most thrilling water slides, there are two that you absolutely have to try. King Khajuna is the tallest freefall water slide in Europe and if you’re brave enough to try it out, you’ll face a frightening freefall from a height of 31-metres at a 55-degree descent, travelling at an impressive 6-metres per second!

El Tifón is another water ride that will get your heart racing. Once you’ve climbed to the top of the tower, you can choose one of two slides (both 15-metres above the ground) that will send you on a dizzying descent to the bottom.

For something a bit less daunting, compete against the rest of your family on the popular Rapid Race attraction. Get into position as you lie down on top of a mat and launch headfirst in a race to get to the bottom before your competitors.

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

We think you’ll also love the Mambo Limbo attraction which offers the perfect mixture of adrenaline and a beautiful Caribbean backdrop, with a big splash at the end! The 1500-metre-long El Río Loco lazy river is another must try, along with the El Triángulo De Las Bermudas wave pool which replicates the challenging waves of the Caribbean. If you want a way to cool off from the heat, this is definitely it.

Parque Warner

If you’re planning a holiday to Madrid, it’s worth considering a visit to Parque Warner- especially if you’re a big superhero fan. The park is conveniently located just a 30-minute drive away from the centre of Madrid, so is quite easy to get to. It’s inspired by the world-famous films produced by Warner Brothers, with five themed areas. There are 41 rides in total which means you’re guaranteed to find something for everyone. There are also 58 performances and 18 shows as well as parades that take place every single day.

If you love superheroes, there are several rides you need to try. SUPERMAN: The Steel Attraction is the most famous ride at Parque Warner. This fantastic roller coaster simulates the flight of this iconic hero and will send you zooming around the track at speeds of up to 100 km/h. This one definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted, as there’s seven loops and seven free falls!

If you’re more team Batman, try the BATMAN: Arkham Asylum coaster. This amazing ride uses VR technology to transport you to Gotham City and immerse you in an action-packed story. Expect loops, a 31-metre drop and top speeds of 83 km/h!

You’ll find family-friendly attractions inspired by some of your favourite cartoons, including Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry and Yogi Bear to name a few.

Thrill seekers won’t want to leave the park without braving Stunt-Fall. Get ready to take on six intense loops, reach heights of 65-metres and impressive speeds of 115 km/h. This coaster is totally unique as it actually simulates an action scene throughout the course of the ride.
