To visit Orlando without heading to one of Central Florida's amazing shopping mall outlets would be a holiday spent in vain. Shopping in this region is a must and if you're a fiend for discounts and big designer brands this most certainly is your haven. Central Florida offers just about every type of discount outlet under the sun, in addition to some impressive malls. We have compiled a list of some key shopping destinations to whet your appetite and empty your wallets!
Mall at Millenia
Mall at Millenia is still the jewel in the crown, but Prime Outlets (formerly Belz Factory Outlet World) off West Oak Ridge Road and International Drive (near Festival Bay) began a $150million renovation in 2007 and completed its final phase in late 2008. The ‘lifestyle centre’ now features 190 shopping and dining outlets, including:
- Neiman Marcus Last Call Clearance Center (only in Central Florida)
- Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th
- Polo Ralph Lauren
- Kenneth Cole
- Perry Ellis
- Tommy Hilfiger
- Janie and Jack children’s clothing
- Hey Poodle clothing and accessories for girls,
- American Apparel
- Forever 21
- 7 For All Mankind
- Orlando Harley Davidson
- Tommy Hilfiger Kids
- Kafé Kalik.
Mall at Millenia is home to many other designers both familiar and new to Brits. There is even a Disney Character Warehouse for some exceptional discounts on those all-important Disney souvenirs.
Loop West added 27 new shopping and dining venues right next door to the established The Loop, creating an 840,000 square feet retail destination. Loop West is anchored by JC Penney and Belk, alongside Babies R Us, Christopher & Banks, the incredible value of DSW shoes, the techie’s bargain delights of GameStop and six restaurants, including Bonefish Grill and BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse.
Orlando Premium Outlets
The biggest shopping news may be the addition of an entire new wing at Orlando Premium Outlet, expanding the shopping centre to 150 stores. 40 new name brand designer stores include Eddie Bauer, Calvin Klein Men's, Champion, Converse, Crocs, Guess Accessories and Seiko.
While many people gravitate to one of the many Wal-Mart SuperCenters in central Florida – and their discount warehouse style is hard to avoid – we rate the Ross and Marshall’s stores as some of the best value anywhere. Their range of goods varies on a daily basis and can be tough to wade through, but there is a mountain of quality merchandise on offer; from artwork and homewear to clothes and shoes.
