Hurricane Dorian: Florida Theme Park Updates
Be safe and prepared if you’re in Florida this week.
Hurricane Dorian is expected to move up towards mainland USA over the next couple of days, prompting a spate of theme park closures and adjusted hours across Florida.

Here’s a look at the latest updates and closures, and remember to check back here over the next few days: 

Walt Disney World Resort 

On Tuesday September 3rd, most of the Parks will be closing earlier than usual. 

  • Magic Kingdom Park: 8am - 3pm (opening at 7am for Extra Magic Hours)

  • Epcot: 7am - 3pm

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9am - 2pm (opening at 7am for Extra Magic Hours)

  • Disney Springs: 10am - 3pm

  • ESPN Wide World of Sports: Closed

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park: Closed

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: 10am - 3pm

  • Winter Summerland Miniature Golf: 10am - 3pm 

  • Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf: 10am - 3pm 

Disney Resort hotels will remain open, however Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will be closed beginning September 3rd at 3pm and will reopen following the storm when it is safe to do so. 

Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been cancelled on Tuesday September 3rd. Guests will tickets for this date will be able to exchange them for one of the following options: tickets to another Disney After Hours event in 2019, tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event in 2019, 1-Day Flexible Date Ticket with Park Hopper Option which can be used any day prior to December 31st 2020, receive a full refund for the tickets.  Please check here for information on how to redeem this. 

Park dining reservation will be honoured up to one hour prior to park closing September 3rd. Resort dining reservation will be honored until 5:30pm. No cancellation policies are in place for September 3rd. 

Universal Orlando

At this time, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s CityWalk will open as scheduled on Tuesday September 3rd. However, Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Theme Park will be closed. 

Kennedy Space Center 

Kennedy Space Center is closed on Tuesday September 3rd and Wednesday September 4th. Refunds will be available to those who previously purchased a Special Interest Tour or Dine With An Astronaut during closures related to the storm. 

SeaWorld Orlando 

Closed on September 3rd. Guests who hold a date dependent experiences such as Quick Queue, All Day Dining, Up-close dining etc. should call the park on 407-545-5550 to reschedule these experiences. 

Aquatica Orlando 

Closed on September 3rd. Guests who hold a date dependent experiences such as Quick Queue, All Day Dining, Up-close dining etc. should call the park on 407-545-5550 to reschedule these experiences. 

Discovery Cove Orlando 

Closed on September 3rd. Discovery Cove guests who had a reservation for this date should call 407-513-4600 and the park team will rebook the guests at no additional cost or fees for an alternative date during their holiday. 

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay 

Currently OPEN and operating as normal.


Both the LEGOLAND Florida theme park and water park will be closed on Tuesday September 3rd. They expect to reopen on Wednesday, September 4th, depending on the track of the hurricane. 

ICON Park 

The Wheel at ICON Park will remain closed until the storm passes. 

SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium 

Adjusted opening hours as follows for Tuesday September 3rd: 10am - 3pm (last admission at 2pm)
