This Washington DC bike tour provides an overview of the city as you bike to and learn about the major sites on and around the National Mall and Capitol Hill, including the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Smithsonian Museums, World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument, and more.

The Capital Sites guided bike tour is the best way to start your visit in Washington, DC. Get up close to the monuments and memorials as you Bike the Sites® of Capitol Hill and the National Mall.

While you will stay with your bike for the duration of the tour, frequent stops are made for photo opportunities as your guide shares unique facts and history.

On this tour, you will see: US Capital Building, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Memorial to Japanese- American Patriotism, Union Station, Smithsonian Castle and several Smithsonian museums, Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.

  • Cancellation Policy: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled with the operator up to 72 hours before your chosen activity date. No refunds are given for cancellations made within 72 hours.
  • The tours are completed at a relaxed pace on mostly flat bike paths and trails with limited street riding.
  • The tour is suitable for all ages and sizes and there is great selection of all-new TREK bikes, including trailer carriers and trailer tandems available for rent for kids.
  • Please note tours may be cancelled if the weather makes for dangerous riding conditions. If you are unable to reschedule the tour, we will issue a full refund.

What if it rains?

Our supplier reserves the right to cancel tours for safety concerns such as high winds, thunderstorms, excessive heat or cold, or other severe conditions. For both bikes and segway tours, we will provide rain ponchos and go out in light rain or drizzle. Our Segways are completely waterproof and are capable of going out in most weather. If our supplier cancels the tour you may either reschedule or request a full refund. They constantly monitor the weather and ask for a local contact number so that they can notify you of any necessary changes

Is a guided tour for me?

Our tours provide great introductions to Washington, DC  and are a fun and interactive way to sightsee and get familiar with the cities. The tours go to popular sites as well as some that you may not know about. Your tour guide will provide you with fun facts about the sites’ history and provide insider tips that will be helpful and may help you plan the rest of your visit in Washington, DC. The bike tours have a maximum of 15 people at a time (Segways have an 8 person cap) and are completed at a relaxing pace. You don’t need to be an avid cyclist to bike the sites with us! If you would like more flexibility in what you see and where you go you might consider booking a private tour or renting a bike and exploring on your own..

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Washington, DC and Virginia law requires individuals aged 16 and under to wear a helmet while riding a bicycle; we strongly recommend that all of our participants wear a helmet. Wearing a properly fitted helmet reduces head injuries by 85%. We require participants under 18 to wear a helmet.
