Orlando Awards: Favourite Water Park
This week's nominees are...
We give you the low down on the best water parks in Orlando!

We love theme parks, of course we do, but even we can get a bit roller coaster-ed out. In the tropical Floridian heat, nothing’s better than a break from the parks, a break from wearing shoes and the opportunity for an adrenaline fuelled day sliding down the rides at a water park! Our Orlando Awards are still running, and this week we want to give you the low-down on our nominees for best waterpark in Orlando. Remember to get voting, for the chance to a win a £5,000 holiday!

Ihu's Breakaway Falls

Sliding through a magical pool filled with Commerson dolphins in an enclosed glass tube is just one of the amazing signature attractions – Dolphin Plunge - that you can enjoy at Aquatica. Then there’s Ihu’s Breakaway falls, a terrifying plunge drop slide which is definitely not for the faint hearted. For the kids there’s the Roa Rapids, a fast paced ‘lazy’ river, and HooRoo run, a triple dip fast paced adventure! There’s something for everyone, so if it gets your family’s vote, make sure to remember it in the Orlando Awards!

Disney's Blizzard Beach

Slipping and sliding along icy paths and down snow covered water flumes might not be what you expected at a water park in Florida, but its amazing fun to be fully immersed in the frosty theme! Highlights include the Slusher Gusher, which has not 1 but 2 amazing dips as you speed down the 90 foot drop into the lagoon below. Brave guests can face the Summit Plummet, a 120 foot sheer drop “so steep, you can’t see where you’re going”, while younger kids love the Toboggan racers, an 8-lane downhill waterslide.

LEGOLAND® Florida Water Park

The perfect water park for younger children and gentler rides, LEGOLAND Florida’s water park is home to 6 incredible rides. Attached to the main park, it’s the perfect place to splash about and cool off after a day on the rollercoasters. We love the Joker Soaker for a true water park soaking and the LEGO wave pool for chilling out and avoiding the splash zone! If you love LEGOLAND Floridas waterpark too, remember to give it your vote.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon

Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon

That’s right, Disney have not 1 but 2 brilliant water parks! This time a terrible tropical storm has dumped a load of water into the middle of Orlando – a load of water complete with slides, surf pools and lazy rivers that is! There’s even the opportunity to swim and snorkel with colourful tropical fish in Typhoon Lagoon’s Shark Reef. Our favourite slide is the Humunga Kowabunga, which has you hurtling down 214 feet at huge speeds. If Typhoon Lagoon floats your boat, make sure to vote!

Wet 'n Wild

Wet n Wild Orlando

Although it’s set to close at the end of 2016, Wet n Wild remains an Orlando institution. Since its opening 38 years ago, Wet n Wild has wowed visitors with rides like Der Stuka, which plunges you six storeys at a near vertical angle! Not scary enough for you? How about its sister ride, Bomb Bay, on which the floor is literally pulled out from underneath you when you least expect it, plummeting you again near-vertically down 6 storeys! There’s family fun to be had too though, with Blastaway Beach which has 15 different slides and 2 pools!

Which is your favourite water park in Orlando? Make sure to show it some love by voting in the Orlando Awards, and entering yourself in with a chance of winning a £5k Orlando holiday!
