    Thanks TF.

Yes if I renew passport I will have to have a new ESTA as the old one only covers the old passport up to day it rund out.

    Thanks ALL

I can go better than most other people.

We were originally going to go in March and therefore would have needed to have replaced our passports in the New Year. However, we moved the trip forward by a month, and our dates are 9th - 19th February.

    My passport expires 13th March
    OH's passport expires 6th March
    Emma's passport expires 28th February

We are all okay to fly on these passports, and therefore our existing ESTAs are also fine.

The Embassy states that, if entering under the visa-waiver program, as long as your passport is valid fur the duration of your stay, then there will be no problem.

Thanks LM, this is what I thought.

Have you made this trip? or is it next year?

I think my worry is an airline person just saying 'its six months' and not really knowing?

No, we've had our 2011 holiday. We're going away almost exactly the same dates next year - which is when our passports run out.

Funnily enough, Virgin have been quite reknowned for telling people it's 6 months, but the guy I spoke to when booking the 2012 trip didn't tell me that. He did say I should just double-check that we'll be okay on the US Embassy website - which is what I did.

From reports on another forum the Virgin check-in staff are aware of the no time limit view and as long as you have an ESTA you are fine.

Aaaaagh good to know re Virgin, but on this occasion I am flying with Continental. I am wary as some may remember that I came to this very forum after my SIL was at first turned away by Virgin staff on evening and just managed to board the next day

    I don't know whether I'm blind - or dim!

I used my passport today to get some dollars, and noticed that they actually expire in 2013 not 2012. Duh!!! So, I'm definitely okay to travel.:o

Perhaps it's time to plan a quick trip for January 2013 as well then?!
