luggage allowance

Hiya

I know my question will probably have a really simple answer or also be simple to find out but i'm getting myself confused!!

We are flying with virgin and i know we have 23k allowance each but is there a restriction on the size of suitcase as well as weight? Also what is the difference between hand luggage and cabin? Do you get both? So do i get 3 pieces of luggage in total??

Sorry if I sound silly its just confused me lol! I've looked on the Virgin site and its even more confusing......

In economy each passenger gets one piece of hand or carry-on luggage (up to 6Kg) and one piece of hold (checked-in) luggage (up to 23Kg). You can take a few other thngs on board as well, the link below will help.
