Our weather thinks it is January/February. Had a snow shower last night!

Funnily enough, we had a big regression (by Florida standards!) overnight. From 92F/33C the day before yesterday, we were down to 64/17.5 overnight, and it felt distinctly chilly - very much February and not May!!

We may have had one foot in summer for much of the month to date, but the other one definitely keeps lagging in 'spring' mode, with the temp once again veering from a high of 94F/34C at the start of the week to just 63/17 first thing this morning. The typical summer weather pattern is still being kept at bay by some seriously cold weather 'up north' (where it's down to frosty mornings in places) that just about stretches to northern Florida, and hence is still bringing the occasional cold front through the state. We are getting some sultry afternoon heat and cloud, but yesterday's front has completely washed it away, giving us a nice cool morning, which we really cherish at the moment, as we know the weather mode will be switched over to 'Hot and humid' for the next 5 months very soon!

The summer pattern is basically controlled by the convection weather systems that crop up daily as everything heats up and the onshore breezes on both sides of the state try to meet in the middle, with thunderstorm-producing results!

According to the 7-day forecast, we can expect a few more relatively cool days (with temps in the low 80s) before we see things return to that daily average of 91F/32C by the end of May, and then 91-96 for Jun/Jul/Aug.

    Glad we're not there.

    OK, I'm lying.
