Default The Creation of DLP's Main Street USA

If anyone ever wanted insight into the thinking of Disney's creative people, and the immense challenges of what they do (both creatively and financially!), they should read this great article by ex-WDI designer Eddie Sotto, talking about the creation of Main Street USA at Disneyland Paris:

PS: We will have a full Q&A with Eddie (plus a review of the new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium at Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World's Chrstmas programme) in the Winter edition of Attractions magazine - out next week!

Having just spoken with Eddie and heard quite a bit about the details he relates in this story, it's an interesting read and certainly gives a lot of insight into how these projects come together.

We did a Q&A with Eddie for Orlando Attractions Magazine, which will be in the next issue. Fascinating guy who is completely candid about his work, past and present.

Very well written piece, shame Disney don't still have people like him.
7 Trips to Florida, Christmas in LA, Disneyland Paris twice and odd days here and there.
All my trip reports are now HERE.

Sadly, there are a lot of people like Eddie, who are now doing their own thing (very successfuly). There are still some great people at WDI, but you have to think they have lost a lot of talent in the last 20 years, and they now have to out-source things they never would have done in the past.
