All-new family fun lands on spring weekends, April 26 to May 18.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – (March 19, 2019) – Adventure awaits for fun-seeking families when they visit Gaylord Palms Resort for all-new Pirate and Princess Weekends! With interactive activities both inside the resort’s atriums and outside at Cypress Springs Water Park, rogues, royalty and every member of the family is sure to enjoy their time on weekend dates from April 26 to May 18, 2019.

Pirate and Princess Weekends tells the tale of Gaylord Palms Resort as it’s commandeered by a notorious band of pirates led by Captain Hornswoggle. Swashbuckling Sunshine and her first mate Clarence Mockingbird the Third are searching for kind Princess Orangeblossom’s treasure Guests will get to embark on their own adventures as they choose to be recruited for the Captain’s crew or join Orangeblossom and become an honorary prince and princess for the day. ​

The Pirate Invasion Pool Party has guests joining the pirate crew of Captain Hornswoggle and First Mate Clarence for music, games, and swashbuckling fun in Cypress Springs Water Park. The ideal setting for family-fun, Cypress Springs features a zero-entry family pool, treehouse water play structure with four water slides, the Big Cypress tower with an AquaDrop slide and two racing slides, and The Wake Zone, a Double FlowRider with a surfable simulated wave.

Inside the resort, families will want to explore the 4.5 acres of indoor gardens with Orangeblossom’s Shiny Stash Scavenger Hunt. Fearing the rapscallion pirates, the Princess has hidden her treasure throughout the resort, leaving guests with a choice – will they help their new buccaneer friends locate the treasure chests or will they help the Princess keep her treasure hidden?

Guests may step into a fantasy world via interactive storytelling during The Princess Academy with Princess Orangeblossom and Sunshine the Pirate. As the fun tales of Princess Orangeblossom and Sunshine are brought to life, guests will become official royals for the day, taking an official oath!

The Pirate and Princess Swashbuckling Soiree brings shipmates and royalty of all ages together for a fun-filled, interactive dance party. Guests will want to bring their loudest “arrrrrs” plus graceful bows and curtsies when they jump on board for an evening of fantasy and adventure.

High above the trees inside the resort’s St. Augustine Atrium, the nighttime Pirate & Princess Light Display will dazzle with colorful lights and imagery (swords clashing, waves crashing and pirate ships, plus crowns, tiaras and brilliant jewels), creating the perfect close to a day of exciting adventure.

In addition to all the activities included for overnight guests, Gaylord Palms will debut a new escape room, available with separate tickets. Inside The Captain’s Hidden Treasure Escape Room, guests have been recruited against their will to join Emerald, the wayfaring wife of Captain Hornswoggle. As part of her crew, they will need to ransack the Captain’s Quarters in search of the ultimate treasure, a priceless gem that he has refused to give to his wife. He is due back in 30 minutes and guests must find the jewel and escape before his return.

Pirate and Princess Weekends activities are available on select dates, including April 26-27, May 3-5, May 10-12, and May 17-19, 2019. Room packages start at $169 per night, plus tax and resort fee.
