Default Mad rush for Disneyland's Star Wars tickets

    ANother snippet from Travel Mole.

AND I imagine coming to a World not far from Orlando soon! Except if you are lucky to get an invite to media day?

The first three-week batch of tickets for Disneyland's eagerly awaited Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has already sold out - just two hours after going on public sale.

All the coveted four-hour slots through June 24 were snapped up in just a couple of hours when online reservations opened.

The attraction officially opens May 31.

The last resort for impatient fans to see the attraction before late June is by booking a resort hotel.

"We are delighted that our guests are as excited as we are about the May 31 opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge," Disneyland spokeswoman Liz Jaeger said.

"Beginning June 24, 2019, reservations will not be required for visits to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and access to Disneyland park, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and experiences will be subject to capacity," Disney said.

Some customers complained the Disney site was slow to load presumably due to sheer number of website visitors.

Disney has taken no risks regarding overcrowding by allotting four-hour slots but hasn't said what the maximum capacity will be, bearing in mind only one of the two rides will be currently open when it debuts later this month.

The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run motion simulator attraction will be open but the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride is expected to open later this year.

I think Disney is in an unprecedented situation right now, with interest practically off the charts and demand at an all-time high. Very hard to know how they work it all out, so I think there's definitely going to be some trial and error involved here.
