Farewell Copper Canyon Grill - Welcome, Rodizio Grill!

So, the closure of the Copper Canyon Grill at Pointe Orlando was announced earlier today. We weren't hugely surprised as it was a rather anodyne and easy-to-overlook offering in the wealth of restaurants along I-Drive, and especially in the Pointe, which always seems to have a high turnover. We hadn't been in a while, but it never really grabbed us as an interesting place to dine.

Hot on the heels of that news, we hear (via Attractions magazine) that the more high-energy Rodizio Grill will be coming to Pointe Orlando in what looks like the exact same space:



I-Drive already has two excellent Brazilian-style steakhouses (Texas de Brazil at the north end, and Fogo do Chao near Ripley's Believe It Or Not), and this promises to be something similar in an upscale vein.

It looks very s****y. We ate at Texas de Brazil many moons ago. The food quality was outstanding, as was the place itself, but I'm not a huge fan of the concept. It's basically buffet dining with the meat element brought to your table.

A chance to meet the meat...?

We actually LOVE Fogo do Chao for its great quality, both of the meat selection and its salad buffet. In fact, for $15/person at lunch, the salad buffet is a great choice (as it includes so much more than salad!).
