Disneyland set to reopen next month
Disney has some good news for Californians. Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park will reopen with limited capacity starting from 30 April after more than a year closed.
In phase one, only California residents will be admitted and a new reservation system will roll out to ensure it adheres to the limited capacity numbers permitted.
It will initially run at 15% of normal guest capacity.
"The day all of us have long been waiting for is almost here. We're excited to have more than 10,000 cast members returning to work as we get ready to welcome our guests back to this happy place," said Ken Potrock, President of the Disneyland Resort.
Some Disneyland hotels including Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen at limited capacity from 29 April.
Disney will impose social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.
"Certain experiences that draw large group gatherings such as parades and night time spectaculars will return at a later date," Disney said.
The Downtown Disney retail and entertainment strip has been open since last summer.
Last year Disney announced thousands of job losses at its Parks, Experiences and Products division, in part due to the prolonged closure of the California parks.

It's definitely going to feel weird at only 15% capacity. We thought Epcot was empty at 25% to start with, so Disneyland is REALLY going to be quiet at first.
