We really enjoyed our stay there a few years back. Our room was in the block right by where the bridge from the centre lands on the left of this picture. That was before the new tower and restaurant on the lake had even been announced.

There's been a lot of negativity surrounding the incongruity of Gran Destino in relation to the low-lying Coronado Springs but, if you didn't know better, you'd never guess it hadn't always been there. Seeing the aerial view it seems the designers and landscapers have worked it in pretty seamlessly.
Yes, I think you're right, Deb. It initially sounded incongruous, and the construction stage was pretty awful. But the end product is very smart and it really doesn't seem too out of place in that location.
