Building Cinderella's castle

Lockdown has been tough so i bought the Lego set of Cinderella's castle but looking at it before i start i'm not so sure the grandaughters wouldn't wreck it within an hour and as an expensive piece of kit and a, probable, good few hours and days spent putting it together i might just put it to one side. There are 14 stages to each one with various bags of bricks totalling around 27 although there are even smaller bags inside those so it will be fun.


So i thought i'd post up a few photos as i go along during the various stages of building Cinderellis castle

Getting ready to start i was pretty amazed just how many bags of bricks there were and the manual was like a massive book, thinking this might not be quite as easy as i thought

So this was up to stage 2 which was failry straight forward

Stage 4 was completed a couple of days ago and again wasn't too bad. I was finding the manual incredibly easy to follow and Lego should be congratulated on that.

Stage 5 wasn't too bad but there was starting to get some intricate bits with very small bricks and the details which is slowing it up quite a bit. Make a small mistake and it takes ages to go back. I've made a couple of mistakes and had to un-brick everything and go back over the manual and again that is really time consuming. I'm actually really enjoying it but with my shifts at work i's taking a lot longer than i thought it would and still with loads of stages to go yet.

Stage 7 and we have Mickey & Minnie now at the front door

This now is after stage 9. I have skipped 8 as it was all small detail that didn't show too much from the previous stages which was really slow going and a mistake or two and i had to go all back over it again. I finished 8 last night and started 9 but had to leave it as again it was so slow. Anyway, the castle really taking shape now but the grandaughters are around tomorrow................ i might have to hide it

Wow, that's some serious detail. And fascinating to see it take shape stage by stage. Did you also do video, by any chance? Great opportunity for a time-lapse video!!
