Good to hear that things are starting to get back on track. This will be a massive event when it happens.

Yes, very good to have a firm date for Epic. As TF says, this is going to be a MAJOR development hereabouts, and I think we can expect to hear a lot more about it in the intervening months as Universal will have a lot of scope here for a drip-feed process.

Sounds like a visit in 2026 is in order...

Here's a look at the current state of construction (i.e. not a lot, but plenty of earth-moving!) of the Epic Universe site, from the latest aerial photo on Twitter by bioreconstruct. Some interesting notes, too:

Aerial look at a portion of the Epic Universe site. Imagine parking top center to top right, and park entrance at the pole toward top right. Center of the park is about where the pole is at center, with a fountain basin (the circle) as a visual goal when you enter the park.

There has been a lot of service installation work going on there, laying pipes and cables and such. They've probably already spent a third of the construction budget without much appearing out of the ground.

The latest aerial photo from Bioreconstruct doesn't show much more construction, albeit there is a LOT of mud right now from 3 days of fairly heavy rain:

Purple arrow, about park entrance location.
Orange arrow, about center of UEU.
Yellow arrow, How to Train Your Dragon land.

And yet another great aerial view from Bioreconstruct, showing how the site is now starting to go vertical:
