Brightline unveils new Orlando Airport train station

Brightline has officially unwrapped its Brightline Orlando Station at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Brightline announced that Orlando ticket sales will launch in May with one-way fares starting at $79 for SMART and $149 for PREMIUM.

SMART fare bundles for families of four will be available for less than $199 one way.

More than 300 invited guests took part in the station reveal, including the Mayors of Orlando and Orange County.

It is the first intercity passenger rail station of its kind located within an airport.

The new station measures 37,350 square feet adjacent to Terminal C.

The Train Station also connects directly to the airport?s Parking Garage C.

There is direct access to the other airport terminals A and B via the airport Terminal Link in under five minutes.

Mobility options at the Orlando train station include Brightline?s first and last-mile service, Brightline+, which cater to the Orlando visitor.

An expansive two-story station space features the Mary Mary Bar and in-station shopping.

All travelers will have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations at every seat and there is a BrightKids children?s play area located in the SMART lounge.

Passengers will access trains by escalator or elevator to first level platforms.

Service will begin in summer 2023 with 16 daily round trips between Miami and Orlando.

Brightline?s non-stop trains have a run time between the cities of two hours and 59 minutes.

Regular service will stop at all Brightline stations including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura with a journey time of three hours and 30 minutes.

Good spot TF, and thanks for posting. We've been watching this on TV today, in between running to and from various appointments, and it's another major step in bringing high-speed rail to Orlando. Here's more from Spectrum TV:

Looks very smart, hope it works better than the new airline terminal!

Good point, TF. Hopefully they have learned some lessons, but I suspect (and hope) it will be a very different procedure than the average flight.

It would be nice to have a direct connection to Terminal C, not just Parking Garage C. I can't believe you still need to go outside and into the parking lot to catch the shuttle over to the main airport.

In theory, there will be a better link in future. They just couldn't afford to build it all at once, sadly.
