    Default Hello from Tennessee!

A few forum members may already be aware that we have just kicked off our Great Travel Adventure for the next year - 12 months on the road in an RV. A crazy bonkers idea that we might just get to finish! We set out on May 14 with the idea of going as far afield as we can in a year, including all the major national parks, and places like Washington state, the Napa Valley, Roswell and the Texas coast. We will still be checking on the forums regularly, and passing on important Orlando travel news, but we will also be writing a regular blog of our travels, and doing a monthly US Road Trip story for The Independent. Hopefully, it will all add up to a comprehensive picture of travelling widely across the US and finding some real discoveries along the way. Susan's son will get to live rent-free for a year (in our house!), and we will be heading out to all points north and west of Florida.

You will be able to follow our blog at www.veness-travel-media.com.

This will be an interesting thing not only from a "where you go and what you see" type perspective but how you get on more or less living in an RV for a year. We have often thought about doing a trip in an RV as i'm sure it would be cheaper than checking in to 17 hotels across the states when we did the West Coast to East Coast trip.

We'll keep an eye on you as we might even bump in to you on our trip in September , we'll be doing our usual crazy trip covering Atlanta, Tuscaloosa, Green Bay, Chicago, LA, Maui, Oahu, Phoenix, Monument Valley, Phoenix, Nashville, Tuscaloosa, Atlanta & New York.

My big worry with an RV would be staying away from the big cities as although i can drive a car anywhere in the USA i'm not so sure i could navigate an RV in places like San Francisco, Seattle, LA and New Orleans.

Yes, we have quickly discovered that RVs and cities don't go together well. Both Birmingham and Nashville have proved a struggle so far, but the rest of the trip is giving us a GREAT look at the real places along the way.

    And then there's this....!
