Galactic Starcruiser to Close After Just 18 Months

Quite a shocker from Disney today - they have announced that the new (in March 2022) Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is CLOSING this September. That bombshell was quietly dropped amid today's busy news-cycle, with no comment on why Disney is making such a drastic move on its most expensive resort experience. However, it must be clear to most observers that Disney simply over-priced its latest - and arguably greatest - theme park "extra", and that just not enough people were booking it. The last "voyage" will be in September and there is no word yet on what, if anything, it will be used for in future, although it's hard to imagine it won't be some kind of hotel resort (perhaps for private bookings).

While it may be expensive I bet the profit margins are pretty slim.

Personally I can?t think of anything more boring!

It was beautifully done, but at a price point that made your eyes water, and there just aren't enough people with that kind of spare change for a 2-night jaunt. It was pretty easy to predict, and it's hard to see how Disney will recoup their investment on this one.
